Has anyone ever tried or even considered growing tobacco. It has to be cured just like marijuana and need the same n-p-k. I know it sounds weird but I was thinking just to see one grow. Never seen a tobacco seed

I have tried it once along with salvia but no luck the seeds were very tiny.I would type it in the search engine cuz I think seeing one on here somewhere and next time post in the gardening section if you want more replys

Ya, a few months ago there was a thread on it, but seeds are hard to find or something, I was going to look into it, but it seemed like a hassle.

Salvia the groundcover?

I grow Organic Wild Tobacco every year . It is easy to grow , just pinch the flowers in order to produce more leaf .
Kwit hidin' yer face, and where'd you get seeds?
Have to order like Cannabis?
If I remember, the drying process is similar, isn't it?
How ya been lately?

groundcover? I dunno my sista ordered them and I am currently growing in the same pot not the same soil though just says salvia splendens on the pot with how much sun it needs wanna see a pic?
That's OK, I just remember Salvia being a low growing almost vine like groundcover.
Tolerates full sun, right? Most common color is white?

OK, wrong.
I guess I'm thinking something else.
Sorry.
Been almost 30 years since I worked in the nursery, but I knew I remembered the name, must have been from when I had to fill in over on the flower arrangement side.

I have to hide around this part of the woods lol .. Its just not safe here yet even with a medical card .. I got my seeds gifted to me , I choose my own phenos evey year and continue to produce all I need ..

You can order Tobacco Rustica online , I know it as Sayma being Ojibway/Ottawa Indian .. Warning Wild Tobacco has a much higher nicotine level than the hybrids grown within the Tobacco Industry .. It is not to be smoked like regular tobacco due to this ..

I dry mine in the fall outside under a shelter but I prefer cool humid nights and warm days as it insures a smoother smoke in the end ... Here is a shot of a seeded plant that I grew last year .. This one did not have its flowers removed as it was a backup plant for seeds ..

Doing good man thanks ., and yourself ?

A little trick for those who wish to grow tobacco or other plants with fine seeds .. Simply moisten a 2x4 and gently spread your seeds upon it , then flip gently upon moistened earth and leave it for close to a week .. Once removed the seeds will be gently embedded in the ground in a straight line with minimal washout and most will probably have sprouted by then as well .. I have been doing this with fine seeds for a long time and it makes it simple and almost fail proof in the end ..

Good tip, for any flat seeds, radishes, marigolds,

Thanks for the pics and info PPS

Do you get stoned off of wild tobacco?

One might think they are stoned if enough is consumed lol , its more spiritual for me and those that revere this plant as well .. Mix it with red willow bark if you want to smoke it as it was traditionally done in the sacred pipes long ago . Most pipe carriers ( Holy Men ) use common pipe tobacco for ceremonies these days ... But there are some traditionalists that use the rustica ..

Any idea, have you tried mixing it with commercially produced pipe tobacco?
