Too Cold....Harvest Early? Pics Included

So fall is here in full force in the midwest. We have had a cold front move through and it looks like it's not going to be letting up. I am dealing with highs in the low 60's and lows in the mid 40's. Somewhat typical for my location at this time of year. I am about 45 days into flower on a bagseed that has to be sativa dominate. I have been checking trichs and I would say I am at about 40% Clear, 50% cloudy, 10% Amber. Buds aren't huge by any means, but not tiny either. I feel like two more weeks and it would fill out nicely, however, I am not sure that this weather will allow it to do that anyways. I accidently snapped one branch off with about...10 buds on it the other day and got after it dried I have 6.2 grams. Smells like terrible wet hay now that it is curing and makes me sick just to smell it (not a mould smell though). I would guess that on the rest of the plant, I have about an ounce and a half dried, which would be plenty for me now. My question is...Should I bother letting it finish in this weather? I am torn between deciding. Part of me wants to let it finish, but the other part of me is saying I am just wasting time because this plant is doing nothing but being in survival mode in these temps and won't really do much. I could use these extra two weeks or so to start a new lowryder inside. I have uploaded some pictures to show trichs from yesterday...They are a bit blurry. My macro lens isn't the best on my DSLR. And another quick question. This hay smell...it will go away right? lol

Also in outdoor growing.

Unless you have a killer frost, or your plants are being ravaged by bud mold....keep on flowering!
Pay strict attention to your local weather's frost alert
This may help:
Lookup your first and last freeze/frost dates by zip code
Want to know when to expect your last frost of the spring, or the first frost of the fall? Enter your zip code (or City, State) below and we'll tell you what we know.

Ya bro you can let her go another couple weeks, but your liable to be back to clear by then, keep an eye on the trichs and I would say the max you should let her go is 50% amber. But yes I'm in Canada and we still have two more weeks of growing. Sativa can take for ever to finish I once grew some into November. It all depends on the strain if you start to notice the leaves browning before yellowing you will either have to chop it or bring her inside.

awesome info guys, thanks a lot. I also put this in the newbies section and am getting the same responsed. Thanks a lot. I will let it finish.

I don't know what part of the midwest, but I'm in ohio and I know I will be getting hit with this tail end crap of this hurricane that's supposed to be here tomorrow or Sunday ....there saying into 30s at night

And I was just on the weather channel app and it is showing that they have a new forecast for the hurricane...almost like it is going off into the Atlantic instead of toward us, but the Bahamas look like bad news.

I had an experience with bag seed before it was same like hay but i had really bad heat issue then so trics was hardly there, yours are frosted nicely with crystals. I read for good stinky buds you need good seeds that's what I found... Just thaut I'd share this hope it helps and all the best

Harvesting early can cause that fresh cut grass hay smell also IMO. .....but strain has a lot to do with smell in my opinion also. You may be able to salvage some smell if you do you do diligence in your dry cure process. None the less let her go as long as you possibly can And next year look into getting maybe a indica dom strain so you can harvest sooner. Sativas can take forever. Good luck

Will do, the scent today is already a bit less than yesterday but still prevalent. I don't think this strain generally smells like this, at least based of the bag the seed came from. And yes, I will be going indica next year. It wasn't my bag that I got the seed from and I hadn't smoked any of it (did get a whiff of the smell though). I wasn't sure if it was a sativa or indica. I have quite limited space indoors and only room for a CFL grow, but I do have some Lowryder seeds I will be growing throughout the winter so I will have that for some indica. I think I will prefer indica more anyways. Used to have a bad anxiety disorder and even though it isn't really an issue any longer, those types of things never TRULY go away.
