Too hot, bad air flow?

I thought I would be able to aircool my closet grow with careful use of fans, but at this point I'm not so sure. I think its getting too hot and I'm wondering if anyone has any makeshift solutions until I am able to purchase the exhaust for my 400w mh lamp. Here are a few pics of the setup. Oh and it maxed at 90.5 degrees recently, which I think it not good at all...

Also I don't know how accurate that little alarm clock is for temperature... bummer.

you may be ok - there are two kinds of temperature you have to worry about - ambient air temperature and radiant heat. 75 f is the target air temp and is taken at the top of the plant but shaded from direct light. if you don't shade the thermometer it will read a combination of radiant and air temp giving you too high a reading. you check radiant heat using your hand at the top of the plant.

the plant looks great.. crank that fan to high and point it up at the light. leave your door open too if you can..

I had to experiment with how my fans would interact with each other for the best, most efficient use of airflow. Think, good cool air in, bad hot air out. I have a fan blowing in from the outside at floor level, and one blowing out from the grow room at ceiling level. One fan in between to help things along. Summer will still be hard though.

Yeah I'm not too worried at the momenet... I just anticipate the weather rising in the summer and will eventually have to figure out a solution. I do plan on getting an ac unit for my studio apt, so that should help things quite a bit.

thanks for the good info + rep

jkmovies: i feel like i knew that, but sometimes you can overthink the setup and overcomplicate things. Thanks for bringing the priorities back to me!

:bigjoint:so baked right now...

This might seem obvious, but in flower,
do your lights come on in the day, or night?
Lights off during the day while it's hottest.
On toward or after dark?

I do on during the day and off at night... I'm on a 18/6 schedule so it might no be a good idea to have off during the day and risk too much light leak... since its my closet for clothing and other things.

Simple solution, tack black/white poli up on
the inside frame of the door, and drape to the ground.
I have some material i bought tacked up to my door.
Keeps light in, or out as i want it, with the door open 2-3in at lights on, fresh air still comes in, but light doesn't leak out.
I can even crack the door the same amount during dark cycles, and no lightleaks in.
