ok i got a grow box that is 16 x 16 x 38 ... just a small one. i got 6 26w CFLs running in it right now with a 80mm pc fan and a 4" fan from radio shack. But they are on the input and exhaust right now.

temp is 86* little too hot

if i put one more fan in there blowing on the CFLs is this going to cool it down by 10*?

i am going to be ordering some fans so i wanted to know what would bring me down by 10 degrees or more.

also i have the box wired for 5 more CFLs but they aren't on now because of the heat issues, so i need to get better ventilation going.

i'll try get a pic of it tonight.

thanks

wallmart or any store like that do you have a vent because fans will just be blowing hot air and raising the humidity i think.

"or put some ice in a bowl in frount of the fan"

Dry Ice. CO2 and Cool at the same time.

ah dry ice is way too spendy man.

the thing is walmart doesn't have small enough oscillating fans for my grow area.. i can't have hardly anymore space taken up.

yes i do have vents. my original posts states that the fans are only in the input vent and exhaust vent... Not pointed at the bulbs.

does anyone know if one more fan on the bulbs will cool it down?

what if you made a hood that held all your cfl's and you had an exhaust hose sucking off the top of the hood? The hood would contain the heat more to that area rather than spreading it through the room and then the fan would suck out that heat.

also does anyone know where i can get a mini oscilating fan? like a 4 inch one? probably don't make them.
look at an auto parts store they should have small 12V oscilating fans, then radio shack and get a 12 power supply, then if you wanted a few small fixed fans you could use pc fan's.

I just say a couple mini oscilating fans at city mill hardware store. Check the big hardware stores. Hey i have space like yours and boght that same 4 inch exaust fan from radio shack, havent got a chance to test it out yet though. Would it happen to be anything close to quiet?

haha it is close to quiet but is definately not quiet. if you mounted it on rubber mounts it would probably be ok. but yeah its got a good hum to it but it does move a good amount of air around.

i'll try find a fan this week. i need to start a journal just so i know what day i'm on
