Too late to plant?

Live in midwes (long 42).....know a friend who has about 30 or so plants started that are about 6-12 inches tall with about 4-6 nodes each. They are healthy and strong looking. Started them under CFLs in a closet and have moved them outside to a porch and been chasing the sun a bit during the day with them. They have been outside going on 3 weeks now. The hope is to plant by July 1st where they will receive 6 hours direct sun and at least another 6 hours filtered every day.

Is it too late to be planting and expecting any type of decent harvest? Have a buddy who says u wont get more than 14 grams a plant. I say BS. What do you experienced guys think?

Thanks for any insights in advance, this is my buds first grow.

Lol @ 14 grams per plant. It is mostly strain dependant. People grow 12/12 from seed all the time and get 2 oz+ per plant. If they have already been outside for 3 weeks you will most likely get 2 oz+ per plant depending on strain/soil/watering/nutes/sunlight/pest problems.

Thanks for the reply. I laughed too and challenged the crap out of him. He has 3 large grows under his belt, prolly jus pissed he didnt do one this year. The plants will get more sunlight than that though as i believe around here the daylight/darkness ratio hits 12/12 around the end of August beginning of September. So my hope is they still have a good two months to VEG and get big.

More like 4-6 weeks. Still plenty of time. Most plants will start flowering late july-early august no matter if it is 12/12 or not. If you check out my grow I have some 1 month old plants growing right now that I am going to throw in holes and 7 gal grow bags. Anything less than 2 oz a plant and I will be pissed for sure.
