Quick question: Is this tent too crowded?
There are 6 plants in 5 gal buckets in a 4x4x7 tent. Vegged for 4 weeks (some were topped at 3 weeks, others were not). They have been in 12/12 for 3 weeks (they went into 12/12 between 8" tall and 13" tall). Also, after 1 week of flower some of the lower fan leaves were removed along with very few branches (super conservative).
So despite the odds, out of 8 seeds (NOT feminized seeds) that were germinated all 8 turned out female. 2 were tearfully killed after all 8 showed pistils, but now it looks like the original assessment of maybe 4 plants was right, and maybe 2 more need to be killed? It is just very sad because all the plants are beautiful, healthy females that are well into flower. One thing is offing a dude with nanners... 4 females? That's a different story![Sad :-( :-(](/styles/smilies/icon_sad.gif)
That being said, its prob better to have 4 healthy plants harvested, than 6 plants in a tent full of mold.
Background info:
Temps: 68-78 F
Humidity: 50-70% (a dehumidifier will be installed to lower RH to 30-50% to prevent mold. It looks like many of the buds are pushed against the wall of the tent - prob not good?).
6x 5 gal buckets
4x4x7 tent
600w cooltube
2x 4" inline fans (one pulls air in from outside, blows thru cooltube, and back outside without mixing with air in tent, the other fan pulls air from inside the tent, thru carbon filter, and outside tent)
1x 12" oscillating fan hanging on ceiling
1x 6" fan hanging from ceiling
1x 6" fan on the floor blowing upward (kinda pulling air in thru passive intake screen, and blowing underside of plants.
So given that the plants are 3 weeks into flower, what would you do? Lower humidity to <50% and leave all 6 for the remaining 5 weeks or more (no idea how long this strain takes to finish)? Or chop 2 and leave 4 in the tent?
