Too Many Plants Plants Per Pot???????

I've grown for a few years outside during the summer this is my first real year i have had any luck...
I planted all my plants in five gallon buckets they have never been transplanted on average i have 2 plants per bucket but one bucket has 5 or 6 plants in it one of which is about 9 feet tall, the rest are about 5 to 6 feet tall.. The growing season here is 150 days i started my plants early so there about 2 and a half months old they look great. My question is.. Is this going to affect my plants at all or should they be fine i'm expecting them to start flowering in the next few weeks, i have read what i could find on root bind still dont know what to do, and also 1 of my plants fan leaves are turing yellow it has happened in the last week to 5 or 6 of them i dont think it's a nitrogen def coz i fertilize them frquently w/ a dilluted 20 20 20 fertilizer, they are also curling down a little the plant dosent look ill tho and seems to be growing pretty good...
Any help from anyone..
I also wanted to know about early night treatments or will i be ok when are my plants gonna start to flower, how long do they flower before they mature???

i read on another post inicas take 8 to 10 weeks to mature from flowering and saivas take 12 to 14. and i dont know much about gardening but 6 5 foot tall plants in a 5 gallon bucket seems like it would be a little much.

It's most likely too late to avoid much damage, but you need to try and get those things into separate buckets while loosing as little of the root balls as possible.

is it gonna kill them??...
i figured that the roots would stop growing and i fertilize them so they dont really need nutrients thou the soil. Because there growing like crazy..
just really didnt expect them to be that big......
If i fuck em up transplanting them there gonna stop growing, plus i'm afraind i'll end up killing them...
Am i totally of basis?

The only way I can think of safely transplanting them would be to take out all the soil and wash away the dirt with a hose to separate the plants. You would then have to strategically arrange them in the soil. Seems a bit stressful and difficult if you are using anything over 10 gallons to me

Honestly, you should NEVER plant more than one plant per pot no matter how big. At this point you're pretty fucked, and as long as the plants are still growing then leave them. You'll probably do more damage if you try and take them out and separate them.

Ive read a few differant times that if you had enough knowledge you could grow some very big plants in small pots, or multiple plants in a pretty good sized pot. But dude that many plants that size in one 5 gallon bucket...doesnt sound to good. I have 2 plants that are under 2 feet tall in one 5 gallon bucket and they seem to be ok, but what you have goin on seems a little crazy.

But yeah like beaner said its best to have one plant per pot. Multiple plants per pot is possible but obviously for many reasons is not the best.

When I was in HI I would see these 20 foot pine apple trees growing out of what looked like a 30 gallon barrel.

not necessarily true....

i often have trouble producing males. however, i found a technique that works everytime, and ensures a male and a female.

plant two seeds in one pot, one will be male, the other female. every time.

don't ask me why, because to this day i am still baffled. but, it DOES work :mrgreen:

But what about the wasted root space taken up by the male? And doesn't it usually stunt growth by having the roots entangled?

I am that does not hold true all the time. I planted some lethal purple seeds, two to each 22 gallon container last week to breed with Oasis and a sativa dominant strain. If I get two females I want to bring them indoors and make them mothers if the swamp allows them to leave.

i take cuts and make moms, be it male or female. if it's a plant i'm going to use, i make copies, so to speak (lol, btw...)

so, i'll rip up a male and transplant him if i do this. if he lives, cool, if not, i have clones. if the female does ok, she gets flowered, if not, she gets fed to the goats. i don't realy worry about the original two.

your container is pretty big for this to work properly. i use three gallon pots when i plant together.

Oh, ok, to each his or her own. Honestly I like using every plant I grow to it's full potential in flowering. Although, the way you do it does save pots.

lol, i do this in time of dire need. for instance, i have three super silver haze seeds, my plants didn't reveg when i had to shut down the grow room. so, i'll plant one in it's own pot, and two in another. this will give me either two females and a male, or two males and a female. either way, i'll have what i need to make f2's and start my pheno search all over again.

i'm not really worried about stunting there growth there monsters..
as long as they flower
i was wanting to get a male and a female in a bucket to make some seeds anyways looks like these ones my be pefect for that..
so my question pretty much is are all of them in that bucket gonnna flower like they should or is that bucket basically growing hemp lol

Or you could just buy feminized seeds and grow them properly? And have alot better results and grow what we all want to smoke not what we want to smoke to save on a dollar container and soil. The truth is growing like that will produce far less results because of root space, how do you calculate nutes? If you are spending doe on beans soil and the time to wait on those things(150 days?) not to mention the safety issue, why wouldn't you ask that question before they started to die? Research is half the fun of growing my friend.

Should be around 2 months to mature.

I am very surprised that your 5 plants in 1 pot are doing that well. do the plants want to topple over?

Also, what kind of soil are you using?

They are right about the two sseeds per bucket to get a garunteed female most of the time I did it and hes dead and shes bud :weed:
