hi, i have a 1.2mx2m area and have my fan controller( eco technics evolution) and an infra red camera in the same area , was just wondering if the light given off by these (green lcd diplay on fan controller and dim red leds around camera for night vision) is too much for the dark period of the plants? thanks

during veg your fine but for flowering it will be. any light whatsoever, even the smallest pin prick of a hole that leaks light during the dark cycle can cause severe stress (possibbly herm) and ruin your crop so id assume that any light source period, especially emminating from inside the box, would be horrible news. the only light not affeting them is green light, so your lcd display might be ok, but not red leds on the camera

First off, green light will not affect Plants. Period. They don't pick up on that spectrum. And as for the red light it also Will Not affect you. I have surge protectors in my flower room, and the switch is a red light. It did nothing.
Small amounts Of light will NOT hurt. Shit I moved my plants outside (cuz I had to) during the night period and no stress or herm.

hah well see about that in 9 weeks. iv made a mistake like that myself, and sprouted balls on my 3 best ladies. sure it MIGHT not affect you. but why take the chance?

anything worth doing is worth doing right, but you stick to whoevers advice you like lol

i did say that the GREEN lcd would probably be fine. but a constant red led (most likely positioned right above your canopy, unlike a surge protcter which sits on the floor under the leaves) from a camera has a huge chance to cause huge issues. its not worth the risk to me, but thats only my opinion, so its up to you

Would a barn light for example turn an outdoor plant hermie if it was close to the plant during flowering.....I think not, so a pin sized hole in a grow room can turn a crop hermie. Huh. Just asking.

^^ im talking a pin size hole in a box thats maybe 5x5x6. not a barn. but during flowering, if you get in your box (or stand out next to that light where your plants are) and you can see any light peering through anywhere, it has a good chance of causing severe stress, not neccesarily hermies so dont get hung up on that, but either way its bad. so ya if you have a huge floodlight 10 feet above your plants outside a few weeks into flowering during the 12/12 dark cycle tyhen yes your taking a stupid risk. once again it may not do anything at all, but it could, especially if you have a strain thats not as genetically resistant to light related stress
