Too much light???

there is no such thing as too much light....
that's not true. There is most certainly a thing as too much light.

For instance, 2 - 1000W lights in a space that's 4 square feet.

Too much light can "poison" your plants, bleach out the leaves, among other things.

Too little light is much more common than too much light, though.

No, that should be fine. ARe the T5s high output? I love those! I'm jealous. I want an 8-lamp T5 fixture.... ><

You don't need light under the plant, though.

I dont know if this is the right place to put this question, but, is 24hrs. constant light until the flowering stage bad for your plants, do they need "rest" time (6 hrs. dark).

Kind of a debate on that one. lol Thus far I don't know that there is any proof of either 24 or 18/6 being better.:peace:

I'm doing 18/6 for lowryders hope it's good :) as for lights on the sides of the plant n 150 watt above help the plant have more bud spots? Or what will more light do??? My theory may be wrong ha

Some people do 24hr from seedling for like 2-3weeks then switch to 18/6 then 12/12 or w/e.:blsmoke:

Think of it like this, for about every 3 foot square ( 1 square meter) you can have 1000 watts of HPS to approximate the power of the sun. In other words the sun puts out approximately 1000 watts of power per square meter of plant loving light.

The biggest problem with lots of wattage in a small area is heat, not too much light.

Thnx bro !!!! What will more light do for the plants? Grow bigger? More bud spots? Bigger denser buds??

Honestly for lowryders, you really don't need more than the 150w HPS you don't need lights under the plants, maybe like 2 26w CFL's on the lower end of your plants so that the lower branches get sufficient light? but i don't think you need all those T5's and the HPS..

So what your saying is that more light on sides will get more buds increasing my yeild and that's it?

Doob answered the question the best, you can indeed have too much light. How much is too much? Youll know when you see it, but I can honestly say that I do know someone who grows 3 plants with a total of 5400 watts. Amazing results, but it takes him 6 months to do 1 grow.
