more lights mean high temperatures and higher electricity bills, if theres too much heat from the bulb your plant will burn

I know the general answer usually given here is more is better .... but ... there is a point that the plants are getting all they can use and the rest is a waste of resources and electricity . I have heard that about 10,000 lums is close to what the sun provides and would think that that should be about the max. to use .. but you may wanna see if otheres here with more knoweledge on that weigh in - cause I'm just not sure what the actual limit is . As far as overdoing it - I dont think it would hurt the plants as long as you dont accidently burn them . I'm curious to hear others thoughts on this as it is a good question that I havn't really thought about before ...

You get to a point where the yield increases are not worth the extra power. Not to mention having to deal with all the extra heat that is generated.

Light won't directly harm your plant, only indirectly (through the heat etc). Post up what the issue is and we can help you nail down the cause.
