6ft, or without bucket still about 5ft??!!! fuck, and 4 weeks into flowering!? i wouldn't cut them down now anymore... would be a slash into your own flash!
get 2x1 wooden battens, fix them 2 to the bucket each and give the plants a slow limbo twist by tying them zigzag to those battens. do it just after you watered the plants and do it slow, really slow. that should lower them by at least a foot if your done
oh and put something around the stem like some newspaper pages folded several times, so that the strings or whatever you gone use won't cut into the stem!!!

I like to use loops of panty hose around stems and branches, as it stretches nicely and won't hurt plants, and it's plenty strong!

So how would you go about tying them down or bending them back or whatever. I've never done any of that before but my new crop is getting too tall for my grow room. So do you just bend them and tie them to the stalk. Sorry if this has all been answered before elsewhere. Ta.

dursky thats really big, If thats a indica dominate and the lights aren't burning any buds or leaves then you should be fine because after 4 wks they stop growing but if thats a sativa you got problems. I had a plant that high before and it wasn't flowered i lsted the branches singlely and they were fine.
