Actually, gravity is involved. Without gravity, there is no water pressure, let alone atmospheric pressure.

I wouldn't call most of them 'bongs' however, as most don't actually filter the smoke through water like a bong does. Mine does, so gravity bong is a proper term for it.

but gravity is involved in everything you dont call a table a gravity table or a water cooler a gravity water cooler even though gravity is in place with both objects

You might not but us nerds have an entirely different language from everyone else. :) Water cooler? Gravity-fed water dropper was what it was called at Solectron, but then again that was because the damned thing had the tendency to tip over even when slightly bumped, sending the 5 gallons of water all over the place.

why?

i went to buy a new bong the other day. they had a local made one and a roor. the local made was 109 dollars the roor was 310. she said they are exactly the same except for the sticker. same type glass and everything. she told me to never buy one. this comes from a glass shop that has been in town for 20 years.
To each his own my friend. But in my personal experience (which i think is safe to say i've had a fair amount of) nothing clears like a roor. Ive had custom sing, double and tripple perk customs (both dome and tree perks), a PHX ect and IMO nothing clears like a roor. I dont even like to use an ash with it.

so what is it about it that makes it different? gotta be something. 20 years of glass sales and they recommend against them. :bigjoint:

this is what I have, i puts down blunts, papers, spoons, etc.. Better than my one footer roor in many ways. Clears, thick and won't wobble.
