Top Half ahead of bottom buds.

My babies have been growing since Oct. Flowered Dec 5.

I topped the plant with the FiM method. She sprouted like 5 new major tops and all are covered in Colas.

The bottom grew nice too but not as bog as the top. She still has some huge colas in development. I would about 30% slower growth.

I upgraded the light mid grow from the big flouro cfls. So I think the light being blocked due to the tent size (still plenty of light no yelling etc).

Do tricomes mature different times? Can the top mature quicker and be cut down and let bottom grow out?

I use to harvest my main colas and any that were ready(those nearer the top) and leave most the bottom buds in flower another 72 hours to a week or more depending on if I had more girls waiting to get in. I of course brought down my lights and kept humidity low. But I'm not a amber guy, I harvest when they are mostly cloudy. And I have found that the majority of trichs high and low will be where I want them so I harvest the entire plant all at once now. If you are looking for amber definitely harvest half the plant at a time and let the bottom half go until ready. So yes, trichs on the same plant mature at different rates.

The buds will mature at different times. Plants tend to mature from the top down so the top buds will be ready to go probably 2-3 weeks before bottom buds. You can just cut the plant in half, harvest the top and let the rest go for another 2-3 weeks or until mature.

Awesome. That's exactly what I was hoping to hear. Of course I will harvest according to tricomes.

The top buds are massive compared to bottom , but the bottom buds look exactly like the top ones did a few weeks ago. So hearing the bottom sometimes is a few weeks behind makes complete sense to me!

The top half tricomes are mostly clear still...she's been growing since Oct 5, flowered early December.

The strain is crystal meth. Flowering can be long at 6-8 weeks so its still on track for a great harvest.

First grow here. So happy she's coming out great. Learned some new tricks and next grow should be even better!

But I was thinking, crystal method strain can get as high as 27% THC. If I time it right and harvest right time, the smoke should be excellent

Thanks for the vid. Exactly what I'm aiming for...

These buds are big as hell...almost 80% clear still...I can only imagine how they will look when ready!
