Top Heavy plants?

I have a few top heavy plants they were indoor over the winter. They were in fairly poor conditions, so the bottom 1-2 feet on the stem is bare, then above that it branches out into a fluffy ball, so it looks overall like a dandelion, well not so extreme but this is the basic concept

So, I was thinking about putting these outside to grow out for the summer seasons, but my question since they are fairly deformed now, will this cause problems later on in the summer if they get big? Most plants bush out, but this one will surely be top heavy, and I am concerned about its growing, so should I scrap them and get some clones? Or try to salvage these somehow?

Will get pictures of the actual plants uploaded soon! thanks

A picture would be helpful but I may have a solution for you. Plant them nice and deep at a 15 degree angle or so so that the top with the foliage is sticking out. The rest of the stem that you burried will take to root and it continue to grow naturally. This is a form of bonzai I learned in horticulture. You can fish it in and out of the dirt like a serpent. Most people think Bonzai is a plant but it's actually the manipulation of a plants growth pattern. Most growers would just call it training though.

SCROG,,, pick up some stakes and 5-6ft of chicken wire pull about 1/4 of the top through the chicken wire and the rest will work it's way through. Once it starts to flower, the stakes and chicken wire will be the support.... or you can dig a 3-4ft hole to put it in?
