So I topped my plants but I am unsure if I did it correctly. It has been 3 or 4 days since I chopped the top these were taken this morning...Thanks for all the help RIU comm!
It looks great dude real healthy plant. how many nodes did you go down? Also you should start to see rapid growth within a week or so. those two spot on eachside of the cut will sprout out to make a twin headed ganja monster..hopefully :peace: :joint::joint:

What's the idea of topping? Why do some top and others don't? At what age/size of the plant should one top? Thanks.

kinda looks like a male, its not real clear but those preflowers look a bit too roundish and cant see any pistils.

even if it is male, you grew it and learned from it so its not a total loss :)

is that your only plant?
if it does turn out to be male you may be able to salvage it and make it fem/hermy and get some bud. just pull the balls off and keep pulling them off and you might get lucky and turn it.
the oldest in my current grow was a male to start, im 4wks into flowering it now and no sign of any more balls just buds.
not good to try this if you have other plants you dont want to risk seeding though. if youve only got the one then theres nothing to lose by trying it.

Looks good too me The FIM method is easy to find on the int. but...,it ain't so easy to do..,I've been using it for two grows now, alittle to short, alittle too long and its the same as topping...BUT if you get it just right and five or six colas will grow!!

what preflowers? dont listen to him. theres nothing there, you arent even flowering
the preflowers at the points where preflowers usually grow from, right next to where the branches grow.
theyre called preflowers, they show up before flowering. usually around 6wks old even when on 24/0 lighting. more commonly seen on outdoor plants due to longer veg time, indoors ppl usually start to flower around 4-6wks so wont notice. some say you should veg till you see the preflowers then switch the lights as thats when the plant is ready and willing to flower without being forced into it.

I'm going to post a few more pictures of the tops today, I'd like to know if you can still see pre flowers...

ive marked on your pic where the preflowers are.
the black lines arent the preflowers, the little bit of growth next to them is.
the hairs can take a few days to show so wait till its obvious before you decide on what to do.
the 2nd pic is one of mine showing definite female.
