Topped my plants, did I do it correctly? (PICS)

Ok so I don't know if thats male/female/or hermie but I can confirm that one of my plants is def. a female. I'll hafta separate the hermie from the rest of the ladies if I decide to flower it right? It would be nice to harvest a little extra bud but I dont want to kill the quality of the rest of the crop.

Okay...good good, I'm learning. So I am assuming I should wait til I go into 12/12 before I make any moves. Is there a chance that it is not male or hermie? The pic below is of the other plant showing what I believe to be pre-flower...I need you shmarty pants growers to confirm if you could...

that pic is showing a definite female preflower.
note the two hairs(pistils) coming out of it, theyre the female parts of the plant, when pollen from a male gets on them a seed will form in the teardrop bit below it.
is that the same plant as the first pics? do the two on the other side of the stem look the same as that?

The plant is not the same as the first pics...So far that looks to be the only pistil pokin out but I'm sure within the next 24 hours more should appear. What is a safe time to remove male plants from the grow room?
 
check on it regularly, it doesnt take long so check a few times a day and note what you see. theyll kinda swell and youll see a few lines on the sides top to bottom of the ball, this where itll split open and release the pollen
