Topping During Flower Phase

yea man i deff will i mean it's fimming without cutting the actual pre-flower in half. I think she was too stressed to take all of that at once. I think by cutting the smaller fan leafs starting to come out, you'll allow for the nodes to grow with the main cola on top. Hence my elaborate trifecta :shock: hahaha i did something like this while one of them was veggin out.It did exactly that grew the nodes where the cola would normally be, but together as one. :hump:

hey all,..i actually topped my plants 10 days into flowering,...im on day 25 and im going to have two FAT NUGS on top,....instead of just one fatty...i have topped and not topped and i like topping..more nuggies!!
 
gah, why not do some low stress training and get 20 buds without any stress? I consider the FIM technique to be kind of dated. you will get better results by tying down your plants in the first week of flower, opening up some of those lower sights, then you would by cutting its head off.

How long do you veg your plants before you 12/12. I saw some of your grows with your moms herb. Anyways You have lst your plants before they get any heigth. I only lst (if at all) in flower when the branches are 3' tall and filling up with nugs. I think FIM is old school and thank the hippies who gave it to us. Fiming early divides the Auxins up evenly so all the branches are geting there fill instead of going straight up the Meristem.
 
Just a few days ago there was someone asking why 1 out of 4 plants when hermie, when I asked her what did she do differntly to the one that went hermie, she said she topped it in flower.

Moms herb???

Anyway, I like to veg to about 9-12 inches and then pull the main stem to 90 degrees and then veg it even more while wrapping the main stem in a circular motion around the pot. Definitely my favorite way to do it. Instead of just a 4-5 bud sites with space in between them, this method creates a full canopy that not only produced at least 20 bud sites, but also maximizes the lumens (because you have a solid, filled, gapless canopy). The only downfall to the method I use is watering, which becomes a total bitch.

Why does watering become a problem? What do you use to tie them down and keep it growing in a circle? Im not sure the image I have in my head is the correct way. Im definitely interested in your method. thanks.

A couple things to keep in mind...you need to give it some space between stem and pot or the lack of airflow can lead to mold (like my current grow). Watering is a bitch because of the height of the stem because it folds over 90 degrees.
