Topping Help

Hello, this question is regarding my first plant ever grown shown in this pic here:

I topped this plant 6 days ago. I am wondering if I did it correctly or not. The reason I ask this is because I don't see the tiny nodes which were supposed to be at either side of the top which I cut off...the node I cut off was smaller than the two other leaves and I'm pretty sure I didn't see any small nodes beside it.

I do see tiny little green growth at the base of the stem I snipped. It's kinda hard to see but you can see it in this pic:

The only other growth which is apparent on the plant is at the base of the main stem as you can see circled in this pic:

I am wondering if this plant will be able to grow some more. I am growing outdoors so time is a factor...any help would be much appreciated. Thanks :)

It can be a lot harder to grow your plants outside. Your question is a good one, but it's hard to answer when I'm high. Just kidding (lol). Toping takes a week (sometimes two) to bounce back on the mother, but it should happen. Look's like a sativa too. You should definitely be using a foliage spray (i.e., GreenCure). Look at you leafs. Some of them are almost eaten and many have holes. IMO, I do not top outside plants. Instead, I usually fim. Toping gives you 2 new sites and is more stress, where fiming gives you 4 new sites with very little stress. Good luck and keep us posted. Peace

kind of funny, growing is always a test of patience and worry. in no time the plant will be growing like crazy and then it's something else to test your patience and worry. GL

I remember wondering the same thing and kinda stressing with my first topping
Cannabis is a hardy weed and will bounce right back. It'll be fine, but might take a couple days for new growth to take off

Right place, wrong time???
Looks like you have 4 nodes going and I would have topped her about 2 weeks earlier. Notice the long intermodal distances between sets of leaves. The longer that distance the fewer growing points and the fewer bud sites. All means less product because you waited so long. Next time top or FIM her right after the second set of leaves are out. Topping earlier will give you shorter I-n distances and therefor more product. Good luck, BigSteve.
