Topping/Training @ same time

Is it cool to top the plant and tie it down at the same time? Or, should I wait til' new tops form before I start tying it down?

I get so excited I just want to mess with it all day! I did both last night and I feel like it's just suffering despite the fact that it looks great.

If you top them, then tie those branches down to where they'll end up even with your desired canopy, you should see nice, even growth across the green.

I know I need to chill out on them. I go and see what their doing every 5 minutes.

I think I'll untie them now and let the new tops come before tying those down. That's what you're saying, right Fishy?

Not really. Move the topped tops down to perhaps just above the rest of the growth, to the outside of the plant. That way, all the top growth should eventually reach the same growth rate, which is what you want in a SOG canopy.

No problem, good luck. Don't be afraid to experiment w/shaping. Ain't nothin' fatal but cutting the main stalk in half!
Folks frown on doing that more than once per plant.
