Topping your Roots !!! for Real

So..

I just got done "topping" my roots.

I understand roots are delicate and all that but this is what I have done and what i have seen.

durind transplant from a half soil half hydro setup to straight soil. I clip all the roots protruding the main soil root ball that are going into the Hydro/water.

Then transplant into soil. or rinse soil and tranf into full hydro.

Every root seem to spout out 2 just as if you Topped the plant. the root grow was amazing in both applications. ABOVE NORMAL.

anyone try or what do you think????

its called root pruning been used by thousands for years but congrates on your new found method we all learn a little every day

its not new found. as you said I have been doing for a while and has been done for thousands of years. just never see anyone on here talk about it.. cannot find it with a search on here so i thought i would !

Uncle Ben mentions it in a thread. You score the rootball when transplanting to produce a redistribution of hormones resulting in lateral root development much the same as topping the apical meristem.

no not for thousands of years, used by thousands for years,.......oh well, RX7 are the shit...... with a V8, i redistribute my hormones at the club which results in dead babies on her face on her face

You can buy pots that will have a similar effect by "air pruning" the roots as they grow into the pot

Air pruning, copper hydroxide paints, rootball scoring before upcanning, etc. Give your plant plenty of time to recover (become established) before you flower.
