Hey guys quick question...this plant has ben vegging for a little over a month now, and its gonna continue to veg until i get home in may. This plant is about a foot tall now and im afraid it might get too tall for my 2' tall grow box. Do u think it would be smarter to top it or just let it grow and see what happens?

I usually always top my plants after the fan leaves with 7 individual leaves have fully sprouted. In other words, at about the 4th or 5th node is when I top. I don't do it because of height or light limitations. I do it because I believe the smaller buds are more manageable. Less mold to worry about and I don't have a huge fricking stem growing through my bud. From the first time I topped a plant I have topped ever since.

plus it look likes your plant is stretching a bit... would it be possible to get more light on the plant? adding some cool 6000k cfls would help keep it a bit squatter

Hey guys, talking about topping (I'm growing for the first time), how precisely should it be done? Do I simply cut it at the top of the main stem? ... don't want to do anything wrong :? if anyone knows a good thread about topping, please refer me, thnx

it looks really stretched out to me. not sure what lighting youre using but if its suitable its possible it just needs to be closer to the plant. if not you should probably add more lights. ass for the height issue why not LST the plant to save yourself some space? look it up under the grow FAQ!

Topping Marijuana- Topping a plant refers to cutting off the top shoot(s) of cannabis plants. You can pinch, clip or snip off the tallest shoots or the freshest shoots. Cut the branch stem just below the last fully developed node,. The plant starts developing branches at the remaining nodes. This is a good techniques to keep a plant short and bushy. Or you can develop many top colas instead of just one. Don't top a plant more than twice and never top when it is in the flowering stage.
