topping?

been hearing a lot about topping, did a search but just saw people asking when, could someone explain/link what is topping how it's done, and why I would want to do it, and If it has to be done!

If you want to top you just cut off the newest growth at the node and two new branches will start growing, use sterile scissors/razor blade to do the cutting.

Throw it out, or you could try to clone it but it would be pretty hard I would imagine.

thanks, so by cutting off the top, it grow more branches? and grows bushy?

It makes two top colas instead of one, which can lead to much higher yield (some strains will just result in two small colas, which is no good). I'm 99% sure that there is an in-depth explanation in the growFAQ, which is worth reading.

Is there a certain time in growth u should top? Like my plant is only about 5-7 days into growth and i wouldnt imagine it's a good idea?

I've heard many different ideas on when to top, but the most reliable source says in the 3rd or 4th week of veg, which makes sense to me. That gives it time to regrow and what not before you flower it.

Thanks man i'll give it a shot. 2 colas is better than one(possibly).
