I'd like to converse with you on this recipe. Loam topsoil is the type to use. Loam is made up of equal prts Sand, silt, and Clay. I've replaced the silt with sphagnum moss, I use Silica sand, and Bentonite Clay. Silt contains around 1% nitrogen,. To the moss I add 10% earthworm castings. I mix 5- gallons of each material, put it in a cheap king size sheet and roll it several times each direction side to side also. Then it is soaked 24 in a wetting agent ( 1- tsp Dawn dish soap/gallon of water). After drained I'll add 4- cups 5-6-3/bushel. Ready set go !!
In My mix consists of 2- prts topsoil, 1-prt humus (EWC) , and 1- prt silica sand. Here's a pic/current grow Bruce Banner Auto Flowers.
