So, let me just start, I am an avid supporter of dank and toke the reefer at least once a night usually, It has become a part of my lifestyle and I want to take it a step further, I want to grow my own.


So, I know NOTHING of growing, I've read a few stickys and I've gathered this.


You buy GOOD seeds, plant them in a pot with soil, water them once a day well and keep them under CFL Lights, however i'm sure their is more than this. What is 12/12, What else do you do? Once you've got a crop, How do you harvest it? How does it turn from leaves on a stalk to the smokable cannabis?

right 1st things 1st. theres lods of information about everything in the 'growfaqs'area of the forum which is on the top left :):)
12/12 is 12 hours light on then 12 hours light off
1st you have them in 18/6 18 on 6off
and you need to germinate... again all this is in growfaqs

welcome mokie! my advice is do some online research because some people in here get thier panties in a wad if you ask questions like yours . just do a little BASIC research and then ask a specific question. goodluck and peace

Alrighty guys,

Thanks for all the help so far, here's my Idea.


I'm gonna make a Box out of plywood, quite big perhaps a meter tall by two meters long. The inside will be painted white, Inside I will have a desk fan on spin and a one of those lamps that provides alot of light and heat, made for chicken coops etc. For the seeds, I am hoping to get an easy to grow with the biggest possible yield. Will this setup work? I will water them twice daily and keep the lights on all night, and off all day as electricity is cheaper in the nighttime.

Any tips or pro/cons on that?

I've also seen a very useful video on youtube and will get a PH moniter and +/- PH drops to keep it between 6.3-6.9 as I understand it is better to be very slightly acidic.

i would try and make your box 2m x 2m and insted of cfl's get a 400 0r 600 watt hps they will produce a much larger yeild .

Alright, i'll look into better lighting.


Also, Once you've got a potent crop with High THC and many leaves, how does it turn into the smokable? Do you cut off the leaves and hang them upside down until they dry and then put them in a grinder?
