Yep. That's exactly what it does. It feeds on the sugar and sugar lowers the immune system and smoking keeps airways open whuch makes a person more susceptible. I went sugar free, wheat free, yeast free and gluten free for 2 years. I'm still sugar free for the most part but I eat bread again albeit not often and not much. A loaf of bread takes me a month or more to eat. I no longer even think of serving a meal with bread. I'm not gluten free anymore but I do tend to be careful of it. Did you know gluten is in ketchup? Gluten is what makes your food taste good lol
