Transition to Hydro from Soil?

Hello

My first crop is currently in its 3rd week of flowering and I have clones about 4 weeks behind followed by seeds another 4 weeks behind.

They have all been done in soil and despite making the classic newbie mistakes of overwatering and overfeeding I feel like I am starting to get the hang of growing. My 2nd attempt at germinating seeds was much more successful for example.

So far everything has been done in soil in 2 cabinets.
I am building a new room 14'x7' and my plan is to move everything to hydro.

I want to start growing about 6 different moms in 5 Gallon hydro pails.

Eventually I am thinking about a 3 stage process. 2 weeks in some sort of rapid cloner (T5's). 3 weeks veg (600HPS or 400MH) 8 weeks or more flower (1000HPS)

So I have a few questions.
As I don't yet have any hydro gear or rapid cloner how can I start my mums form clone or seed to eventually move to the pails? What medium and watering/feeding method should I use and how big should they be before putting in the pails?

Also when I eventually get to start clones would this combination of medium and methods work?

2 weeks rapid cloner - Aeroponics? No Medium?
3 weeks Veg - 2'x3' 15 plant deep water culture or Flood and drain table. Medium?
8 weeks flower - 3'x4' 15 plant DWC or Flood and Drain. Medium.

I would like the movement of plants from table to another to be very easy and the tables should be fairly low maintenance and forgiving.

One last question. Is it feasible to take a plant currently in a 5 Gallon Soil and move it to a hydro pail?

Many thanks

All the above could be done in the same Aero machine Plastic fence post style with 2" cups w/ bottoms cut off and foam insert to hold plants. Thats what im doing in an aero20 machine

They would be ready to go into which ever one you pick. But i suggest thinking about nutes and how dif stages need dif ones etc.

Too stressful to plant imo

Sorry could you explain the term fence post style?
So if I understand your response I would clone/veg using Aero with the roots hanging freely but contained in small mesh pots with the bottom cut out. No Medium.

If they were moved to a DWC table for flower the roots continue hang freely with no medium required? Is it easy to move the plant from a smaller mesh pot to a larger one with out too much root damage.?
If they are moved to a Flood and Drain table then rockwool wouldn't be an option but the little round clay stones would be? (totally gapping on the name)

Sorry for the confusion I am just trying to understand the logistics of moving from one to another.

Many thanks for your response.

I have a similar plan. I would root clones in a "bubble bucket" which is a 3 gallon bucket with a pump and sprayer in it. The lid has about 18 or 30 holes in the top. You slip the cuttngs in neoprene collars, place in lid
and plug it in. 10 days later, Nicely rooted clones.

I then take the 12 best clones and GENTLY place them in 3" net pots and fill with hydroton. These go in a rubbermaid tub with holes in the lid and similar pump and spray bar. 2-3 weeks later they are overcrowding, I take the best ones and move to the flood table and then slowly decrease the light schedule over 10 days to 12/12 taking cuttings on the first 12/12.
Just one way to do it. You will damage plants taking them out of a flood table as the roots grow out of the pots and adhere to the hydroton in your table.

When transfering to your flower table, run a day or two with strong h2o2 to get rid of any bucket bacteria then innoculate with mycos to prevent any root issues and increase uptake

You can move your 5-gallon soil plants if you don't mind killing them :) Personaly I would just keep your mothers in soil. Just easier, less oversight and you really don't need - or want fir that matter - fast growing mothers,
