Transplant and transition together?

Hey everyone. I was hoping someone could help. I was going to push one over to the bud room tomorrow, but also want to transplant it into a bigger pot. I have heard that plants need a week of repair before making the transition. Is this true, or can I just transplant and push her over there on the same day?

youll be fine as long as you dont disturb the root system too much.

if youre in plastic cups, you can just cut them apart instead of having to bang the root ball out of it.

you want to make sure that the soil is damp when transplanting.

I transplant and flip on the same day all the time... never had a problem. You just gotta be gentle with your ladies roots, disturb them as little as possible. It also bears saying that this is alot easier accomplished if the plant is NOT root bound in its current container...
And yes, a transplant is alot easier if the medium you're using is good and moist... that way it holds together around the root ball, providing minimal disturbance.

Thanks for the input. They're way past the cup stage. It's one of the mothers I've been hanging onto. I want to push it over and start a new mother. I've always given them the week to heal if they weren't already transplanted. Thanks again!

how do you plan on removing her from the 3 gallon? just tip upside down? just curious as ill be doing the same soon
That's what we've always done. Just carefully tip her out. We tend to do it the day after a water so the dirt holds together a little better and spray the bottom real quick if it is a little dry. Again, just so it doesn't fall apart when tipped back into the new pot.
