Transplant halfway through flowering or not?

OK to start I have 2 plants, same strain started at same time and are given same nutes under same lights, that are 4weeks into flowering not including the 2 week stretch. One plant is in a 20gallon tub. The other is in a 5 gallon bucket. The plant in the 5 gallon bucket originally was bigger with a lot more branhces and colas. Now the plant in the tub that was alot smaller has caught up, and the buds are way larger then the plant in the bucket. The tubbed plant has all white pistels, and no signs of any amber pistils or trichomes. The plant in the bucket's bud growth slowed down alot, and the pistils are turning amber, and starting to pull in. This is my first grow mind u I am new but I do a butt load of research and do things the right way, hopefully. So i got a 10gallon smart pot yesterday and I pulled the plant from the bucket and placed it in the smart pot which is double the capacity. It was extremely root-bound it came out in one big bucket shaped root mass, and it was so compact, which i think is the reason it was starting to slow bud development. Now my question is, will the plant recover and the roots will stretch out? or will the buds not start to grow again and instead get ready to finish up early? Will roots grow this far into flowering or at least stretch if given the room? I know i should of transplanted sooner and I will learn from this, any and all advice will be greatly appriciated!

It might lengthen the maturing but unless you are very heavy handed it should be okay in a few days. No nutes the first watering.

I've done it plenty of times before. Perfectly safe to give your plants bigger homes.

You're only on week 4, so your buds aren't even close to being developed. They'll take full advantage of more root space. Just don't give any nutes first water.

Also the plant with the smaller bucket was having alot of fan leaves dieing on a daily basis could that be to make up for lack of root space? cuz other plant has had next to nno dead leaves besides bottom normal ones

Yea it's root bound so it's gonna be fighting for nutes. The plant is focusing on the flowers so it's going to remove old foliage.

i dont know how to post a thread ..i need help my plants are over 6 foot tall and the light is at its highest possible point the top buds are burning and information

you need to tie them down imnotafed. Also to post a thread. Go to top of page click forums then click on a forum like, Indoor Growing, then look on the top right under the main tabs where it says Forums and all them links and click post thread. Make sure ur logged in or u won't see it

It is called LST training slowly bend the top branch down away from the light, I like to put it in a direction that has the least amount of foilage and growth. Slowly bend it back and forth then tie some string around the branch and attach it to something to make the top branch bend over Research LST during flowering. Make sure u dont break the branch though u can bend it a little at a time, like start bening it 45 degress then go to 90 tommorow, untill u have adequate space.

Yeah that is huge, next time you should start to flower them sooner, think you vegged too long. You need to pull down that top main branch its only thing u can do besides getting them in a bigger space, well only thing i know of

tie a string to the main stem, like a foot and a half from the top, then tape it to the bucket or tie it to something under the plant. That will give u an extra foot of space from the light. Or even start two feet from the top if u think you need even more space. It shouldn't grow much more mine havent grown since 3rd week after switching to 12/12 Your PLANT IS A BEAST THO MAN! good work

yeah i think i over vegged majorly thereout of control lol and now im worried about losing my precious buds haha ill try the bending thanks for the info theyve been flowering for 38 days i have to go away in 16 days for a few months can i harvest early or would it destroy the buds ?

That would be way too soon. You can buy a couple auto feeders. They are like glass pieces u fill with water and stick in the soil. Otherwise u are going to lose a huge harvest, that plant looks like it will yeild a half a pound maybe more, you got probably at least a month before that plant is done. Also I think you can cut off the top bud and let the lower buds keep going. but I would get some advice from the pros I am on my first grow. I spend tons of time researching but I still lack experience

Might depend on the strain. Some dont miss a beat on transplanting. Others are sensitive and stall a bit. Hate to stall in flower. But i guess the question there is... how much bud production is lost to a stall vs how much bud production is lost to getting stifled in a small pot?

So... how well do you know this strain?

54 days is cutting it close, but it takes more than a day to harvest - especially a plant that big. you need to dry for a few days, then jar for 3-8 weeks. trimming that will take HOURS by yourself
