its soil from under my orange tree i figured it'd be pretty good for growing considering there's always molding oranges and shit there
I'd reccomend you use a potting soil mix, especially for your first grow.

The problem with outdoor soil is you have no idea what its ph is, and it's very likely there is poor oxygen exchange in the soil, which your roots need. The little white pebbel looking things you'll often see in potting soil is perlite, and most potting soils also include vermaculite. These two volcanic rocks store water, nutrients, and most importantly oxygen and make them all available to your roots. If the soil is compact like yours appears to be, and there are none of these volcanic rocks, your roots might suffocate from lack of oxygen and droop as they are right now.

Your plant will show the exact same warning signs as it is now if you overwater it, accomplishing the exact same thing; root suffocation.

While the transplant might be the cause, I'd wager more money on your plant's roots suffocating.

Hope this helps,

Well said Monkey +rep
Also, being from around an orange tree I would assume this soil might be acidic and it definitely looks like it does not get good aeration
