Hello all still growing my first grow, and im a little over a month in and two of my plants are about 22-24" tall In 1gal Buckets.Strain is Girl Scout Cookies, 2x240w Blackstar LED's, In Grow closet of 2Wx6Lx6H. I believe i need to transplant them before starting to Flower (thanks Natro&Ninja), and im not sure how big to go? Basically i think 5 gal is going to be too big for my grow. The max height they could get in my grow room will be 48" tall and right now there about 24". I dont even really want them to get that big as im only running 2x 240W Blackstar LED's and i've been reading that LED's are good for low to the plant not tall ones. So i hope im ok!!!Any who what do you guys think i should transplant too?

Thanks for the help!!

Also, How do you guys transplant? Do you guys dig out the Plant out of the first bucket, or do you do the Crunch the bottom of the bucket and flipp upside down method? Thanks!

6-7 gallon, 5 gallon buckets would be fine though but the extra money spent on larger pots will pay for themselves come harvest. Just bump/tap the bottom of the pot to transplant, you want the soil to keep the shape of the pot it's in to guarantee minimal stress

I'de go with 5 gallon buckets and transplant a couple weeks before 12/12 flip so they have a chance to get over transplant stress and develop more roots.

If they are 24 inches tall in 1 gl pots i'd be transplanting now. If you only have 4ft of height to work with i'd go with 3gl pots to finish in. Just grab the main stem at soil level between your fingers and give bottom of the pot a good smack on a hard flat surface. She should pop right out. I like to transplant with the soil a little on the dry side so it all stays together. Good luck and i'd hurry up with the transplant. Any pics?

I agree with you. Just do the 2 big ones for now. They look nice and should take right off with a bigger home. Nice job.

Your call man but, with limited height i'd go with the smaller bucket. Transplant now wait a week and switch to flower. If you put them in 5 gl buckets the growth for the next 2 weeks will be mainly the root system. Lot's of folks run 3gl pots and do well.
