Transplanting from soil to hydro. +REP for whoever helps.

I don't think I've heard of soil to hydro. You would have to get All of the dirt off the roots. And I think it needs to be rooted in rockwool

I'm not sure how to get it into a hempy bucket, but I've moved seedlings into dwc buckets. You knock as much dirt off as you can then rinse it gently with running water then carefully place it into hydroton. It takes a week or two for the plant to adapt to it's new environment. From what I know about hempy buckets a similar procedure should work, but why not go with dwc?

Need to transplant a soil seedling just a few days old into a hempy bucket
any methods.
I did it with no problems. How far along is the plant(s)? CAREFULLY support the stem where it meets the soil and remove from pot or cup by turning upside down. GENTLY break up the root ball dirt. If dirt sticks to some roots, put it under tepid, running water and massage the residual dirt off the roots. a few tiny pieces of microscopic dirt particles won't hurt your hydro, especially if you change out the rez during maintainance. The plant is stronger than you think and unless you totally manhandle it, should be fine. Because the root structure has already been established, you won't need a rockwool plug for support. Just take your net cup, fill about 1" of your grow medium (hydroton, etc.) in the bottom of the cup, place and center the stem/roots into the cup while steadying the plant with one hand and using your other hand, fill around the root/stem with more of your grow medium till the cup is full and the plant is anchored in place. You are good as gold!! Good luck. :leaf:

Perfectly explained.
My question would be, would he have to hand water for the first week or so in DWC, or are the bubblers enough to moist the hydroton and feed the seedling.

Here's a couple things I would add --
* Instead of rinsing off the root ball have a half-full 5-gallon bucket of room temp. water handy and swirl the root ball in the water.
* Flow tables have an uphill side and a downhill side, eh? After swirling the root ball stand the plant up DOWNSTREAM from where you want it and back the seedling
up until you are happy with it's placement. Object: you want all the roots already headed downstream when you pile the supporting media around it.
* If you will be using a submersible pump CHECK THE INFLOW FOR CLOGS DAILY!

Good luck, BigSteve.

hmm but i'm kinda worried it will die
its in a small soil pot already and its just a week old, its cotledyons? are out now, and the first set of leaves r growing
im worried about damaging the roots, if i rip or pull the roots accidently will it harm the plant?
+ plus i dont think i will be abl;e to to take ' all ' the soil out, maybe just most of it..

No need to hand water. I would keep the water in your DWC to about 1" ABOVE the BOTTOM of the net cup, till you see the roots touching the water. The micro bubble explosions will keep moisture in the hydroton and give enough moisture to the roots until they emerge through the hydroton. After that, drop the water down to the recommended level or 1/2"-1" below the net pot. GL my friend.:leaf:

sorry but a net pot? its a hempy bucket

No problem get a grow bag fill half w perilite, add plant top off w perilite, hook up driper. Done. I start mine in soil and flower hydro in a reserculating drip system. Never had a problem. They always take of when I change to hydro
