I would at least step up to 3 gallon if not 5, doesn't sound like you have to much of a choice. How far are you into flower?

How far into flower are you? If the roots are growing through the top of the soil, you are likely watering to often.

I personally would transplant it. I did a transplant from a half gallon to one gallon at about 3 weeks into flower and she loved it.
