Transplanting to 1 or 3 gallon

Did you have to water more often with the smart pots? I'm using ocean forest with an inch of perlite in the bottom to help with draining.

Being a newbie I'm not sure because I have nothing to compare it to. I can tell you that I never watered more frequently than once every 3 days. I'd give them a good watering to the point where I'd get some run-off at the bottom and stop. Then I'd let it dry out for a few days and check the weight of the pots. If they felt surprisingly light I'd water them again. Some strains drank more than others, another oversight on my part when planning my first grow hah.

This is my third grow in soil but the first two were autos and I was told not to top or train and I started in a 3 gallon plastic pots so I wouldn't have to transplant. So this time I decided to top, LST, and I might use a scrog.

I read the same things regarding autos, basically provide the best environment you can for them and let them do their thing which makes total sense. There isn't any time in their internal clock to recover from much of anything let alone topping.

You didn't mention what your running this time. Just to clarify, you're running photos this round and topped them or are you saying that this too is an auto round?

Yea they are photos. 6 GDP and one sensi kush. Three of the gdp are growing fast and stretching like crazy (which I think might be males) and the other three are smaller and more uniformed.

I will be putting mine into 3 gal pots. That way I wont have to transplant again later. I am researching watering techniques of doing this so I don't stress the plants any more than needed.
