trash can grow pod

i have made a trash can grow room. Inside are six 55w T5HO light bulbs, powered by two Fulham Workhorse 7 ballasts. The lid has two 90 CFM server fans attached. Each of the lights is enclosed in a shatterproof fluorescent tube attached to pvc that acts as an intake from outside, pulling the heat away from the lamps without pulling it across the plant. In the bottom, there is about 5 inches of space in a 2 foot wide circle - enough for 15-20 gallons, which should be plenty room. I am planning on growing in a coco based organic soil for the first run, then looking into upgrading to an aeroponic system once I get the kinks worked out.

These bulbs put out 55w each at 4100 lumens each... 330w/24600 lumens hitting in a 3'x2' circle... come to papa

looks good, but what about lighting in the middle?
Well it is only 2 feet wide, and the lid of the can is painted white. I don't think the light in the middle will be necessary. This thing gets BRIGHT. With the lid off it will light up my living room like day.
I will be adding a small mirror to the lid as a false top to block the light coming in where the fans are. Maybe at some point I can add a few CFLs on the lid, but I guess the pictures don't do it justice how bright the thing is.

ok, i've got it all ready to go once my clone roots... I added a a 90 degree pvc pipe with a 3" garden drain attached to the bottom for intake - I also added an extra intake/watering hole that has a screw-in cap. I sealed all the intakes with liquid nails.

On top, I put a couple boxes on top of the fans to direct the air a little bit and also keep up the "trash can" appearance... I tried really hard to keep all the stuff on one side so that i can put it in a corner and it looks like a normal trash can, besides the intakes on the bottom. If you were going to do this yourself and wanted to make it ultra-stealth, you could run a circle of PVC around the bottom of the lights and vent them all out of one hole in the back.

The fans are some server fans I ordered for 10 bucks each off ebay... they are too strong, I need to get a fan controller to lower their speed, but it will work fine, its just a little noisier than it has to be.

i'm curious to see how our units perform.
