Traveling for supplies

I'm wondering who has traveled the furthest for supplies just in order to not make changes to a program that works. in other words to go get a special nute or supplement or medium, etc.
just did a 600 mile round trip for dirt. wonder what others have done

600 mile trip for dirt! wow, what sort of muck is it? i make a 1 mile trip when i need something and thats to far lol.

trust me wasnt my choice....joys of working for someone. it was so much about the dirt but we couldn't get it close and didn't want the change the program without the chance for experiment to find a suitable substitute.

I buy alot of stuff in town & order the rest from htg.

Ive made some serious trips for used high end stereo equipment ive bought from ebay & audiogon.

I live near Detroit Michigan & the furthest ive gone is to Los Angeles California for a pair of speakers,i flew there & rented & u haul & drove the speakers back home.

At 650 lbs each the only shipping available wasnt secure enough to trust no damage in transit,ive been all over the country picking up stereo equipment so i dont get ripped off,lotsa scammers in the used luxury item market.

what kinda speakers? my pops is a frequent audiogon brower and audiophile himself. rubbed off on me a bit

Oh god,ive got an entire floor of my home dedicated to all the gear ive picked up,the speakers i flew to pick up were Montana's, ive got stuff from Krell,Mark Levinson,shit loads of tube gear but my main focal point is Mcintosh gear,i use all Mcintosh in my systems & theatre.

Its been a few yrs since ive had the audio bug,i bet i spent $250K on both systems & another fat wad on the vintage tube collection.

Im like the anti purist type audiophile,i only use gear with tone control which is a big audiophile no no,i also dont go for cables that cost as much as my main amps,ive had alot of fun with the hobby though.
