Trichomes and jewellers loop advice

Just got a jewellers loop (x6 magnification, and a cool LED attached)
Just looked at my LA Woman, 9 weeks into flowering, and could certainly see all the trichomes. What am i looking for to tell if she's ready?
At the moment they're all quite clear

Very nice pictures. It really depends on the high that you are looking for when you should harvest. For a more head high, harvest when the trichs turn 50% cloudy or amber. For a more body high, wait until the trichs are 75% cloudy or amber. Good luck. They look great.

"Cloudy or amber" ? ...mine look clear,do i still have time to wait then? Or is what im seeing as "clear" really " cloudy"
She's only the second plant in my grow to get this far, and i think i harvested the last one a little early so want to try and get this right.

It's really hard for me to tell from your pictures, but the trichomes at first will look clear, like tiny rain drops. As the plant matures, the trichomes will look cloudy, so that you can not see through them. Some strains, the trichomes turn amber rather than cloudy.

If you can get a hold of a 30x Jeweler's loupe, you will be able to see them more clearly. I got mine off of eBay for $6.00.

You said your plants are into 9 weeks of flowering. Give it another week and look at the difference between then and now. You will see the trichs turn color. Good luck with your harvest!

I got a 45x LED Microscope on Amazon for 4 bucks shipped in 2 days with Prime membership. It's cool.. I've been looking at everything!

Ha ha ha! Just ordered a 30x from ebay! Just a few quid, should be here in a few daze; around about the time I shall need it fortunately! And hopefully it will get on with my camera as much as the one now...

Here she is, now at day 67, and photos through 60x loop. All the trichomes are clear still, there's been no new pistils for a weekish....how long's she going to take?

The pics are hard to tell by... what you are looking for is at least mostly cloudy trichs, with some amber... but honestly look at your hairs if 90% of the hairs are deep orange or slightly brown then its time to harvest.

Looking at pics on the 16th, all your hairs look excellent for harvest!!! by now should be medium-Well so harvest that girl!

I agree with reverof. The pics are difficult to tell what is going on exactly, but I would go ahead and harvest going by the hairs.

Thanks peeps. The hairs have all been brown for over a week now, and would of been harvested but for the confusion caused by my new loupe! Just can't work out if the trichomes cloudy or clear or what.... Going to take her down tomorrow anyway, I'm sure she'll still round life's corners off and make Hendrix even better....
(And buy a better loupe!)

Try getting a pocket microscope. I've seen them 60x-100x. They have "macro" capability, which means they can focus real close without blur. Then you should be able to see the color of the "trix".

Just a few tips for you. The only certain way of telling is by trichs. I know a few who go by hair colour and IME they all harvest too soon depriving themselves of 10-20% more harvest and quite a bit of potency!! I have checked the trichs and they are often 60/40% clear/cloudy with no amber. When trichs start to go cloudy, this is the sign that the thc is starting to mature, amber is degrading so by harvesting with mostly clears, the potency is reduced! Some trichs may appear black but this is not a problem. I would suggest harvesting a bud of 2 now, take a few more when you have some ambers and some more when you have 30% ambers (I never go past 30% ambers) This will give you an idea which you prefer.
