There are a handful of growers on here that I have MUCH respect for but still harvest with amber. So, it's not just a noob thing.

Clear trichomes (just before going cloudy) are the most potent. Cloudy are in the middle and Amber are the least potent.
As new glands are forming all the time, you want the balance of the most developed heads while having the least amount of cloudy and amber. So you are going for that perfect spot where many new heads are just hitting ripe yet you have minimal degraded trichs.

In short, cloudy trichs are degraded. Amber are even more degraded. Don't buy into this amber stuff.

So I guess, if higher THC content is not your thing then go for the amber. The less THC you want, the more amber you want.

If you do a journal and harvest at peak potency you will have the "early bro, too bad, would of been a good pull" crowd. Teach a newb a new trick, just point to Dr Paul Mahlberg.

Forget it Hank...they prefer feel good info to fact...is ok I do not ever have to smoke their crap ...and it is crap as if they believe this amber is good bullshit they also are going for all the other nonsense that fucks up plants...

what is with all this medical treating crap? I get high and thats all that I seek is to be high, psychedelic...,if I want a sedative I will take valium, if I want an anti inflammatory I will take ibuprofen, I smoke weed to get high...the medical properties are just a bonus...but yeah this medical bs has you all screwed up logically...I know...smoke your medicine and get dumber and go to sleep...I will smoke my herb and get high

What you're telling us is that man has somehow improved upon nature, the premise in itself is a difficult sell. Depriving plants of water just prior to harvest is another one I have difficulty swallowing. Yet, there are established med growers who swear by it. I just have a hard time believing a contained plant(which in itself is unnatural)being deprived of light and/or water would produce a better end product than one in the ground.

It doesn't have receptors for it. Just like it doesn't have receptors for THC. That is often misunderstood. There are receptors that thc and cbd can "lock into" and create a signal, but those receptors weren't made to receive thc or cbd. I know this isn't a very good explanation, so if you have questions... please let me know.
 
The thing I've learned about weed message boards is not to take the opinion of a single person as the absolute truth. Most people do no research and are just talking out of their behind. You have to do lots of research to get a legitimate answer.

THC only degrades into CBN, not to CBD. CBD has to be in a plant's genetics, you're not getting more CBD with amber trichomes. It's better to provide sources and pictures.

yeah i realize this is three days old, what your looking for is mostly milky or "white" looking dots on a 30x. if your look for a min or two and really focus, you can see there are less reflective areas while on a 30 that will end up being your red/amber, and your clear. my effing MOTHER lended me her 30x while my 40 has been in the mail, and have since identified and chopped. the tops are prime, go for those. take a sample, peep it on the counter and if you got a bunch of "bling" otherwise milky at 30x chop that bitch and call it a day. hahaha =D The milky ones pop out like fucking stars in the sky on a 30x LED. your ambers and clears will be dim, you must really look hard at them to see the red pigment, or clear pigment.
 
Wow... really glad I read this thread. Very interesting that the clear tricomes are the most potent... where did all this other cloudy/amber BS come from??

I'm thinking about testing this out when my plant is ready to harvest... thinking about chopping the majority of buds when they're mostly clear and waiting a little longer on the rest.

Someone should really make a thread on this with the facts!
 
Hell in that case my 2 week old ladies are ready. They are icy and cleae trichromes. Hmmmmmmmmm why must everyone have opinions.

I thought you wanted a 50% amber to tear down. Why must all the pros lie to us and say clear is bad or wont get you high.

Seems to me that amber is like the Christians, been around forever and old folk swear by it. Clear is like scientist, mr.knowitall scientist who creates more theories on stuff.


Damn I high and irritated that there is all kinds of bs out there. All I want is the truth. I have clear tris on my week 11 flowers. Should I pull if I want a couchlock high??????????????

i sure would like to see those lab results. i recommend a 48 hour period in my thread before harvest. any results on the uvb would be great too. and have you thought about the effects of 48 hours of dark before initiating flowering? if you have time to run a test like that it would be appreciated
