Hi everyone just been doing some research and have a few questions that I can't seem to find answers for anywhere. Would appreciate more brainpower/experiences on this.
So it's widely agreed upon that highest psychoactive THC occurs when trichomes=cloudy and highest CBN occurs when trichomes=amber.
What I want to know is this: Even though a plant is getting close to the end of its flowering cycle, trichomes are still constantly being produced(?). Are these new trichomes always clear? Say for instance at the end of a days light cycle, the plant is almost completely cloudy with a few amber, trichome production should still continue at night? What will the new trichomes be?
What actually causes trichomes to go from clear to cloudy?
Furthermore- Lots of debate on whether leaving plants in an extended dark period (12-72hours+) before harvest will increase trichomes production. Even if it does- will the trichomes have any effect on the actual high since this depends on whether new trichomes produced will be clear/cloudy/amber -> back to question 1 lol.
Do trichomes "degrade" even further during curing if not exposed to light? ( again need answer to what actually causes trichomes to go from clear to cloudy to amber)
Has anyone tried the dark period pre-harvest and studied the extra trichomes produced?
THANKS YALL
