Trichomes! QUESTIONS

Hi everyone just been doing some research and have a few questions that I can't seem to find answers for anywhere. Would appreciate more brainpower/experiences on this.

So it's widely agreed upon that highest psychoactive THC occurs when trichomes=cloudy and highest CBN occurs when trichomes=amber.

What I want to know is this: Even though a plant is getting close to the end of its flowering cycle, trichomes are still constantly being produced(?). Are these new trichomes always clear? Say for instance at the end of a days light cycle, the plant is almost completely cloudy with a few amber, trichome production should still continue at night? What will the new trichomes be?

What actually causes trichomes to go from clear to cloudy?

Furthermore- Lots of debate on whether leaving plants in an extended dark period (12-72hours+) before harvest will increase trichomes production. Even if it does- will the trichomes have any effect on the actual high since this depends on whether new trichomes produced will be clear/cloudy/amber -> back to question 1 lol.

Do trichomes "degrade" even further during curing if not exposed to light? ( again need answer to what actually causes trichomes to go from clear to cloudy to amber)

Has anyone tried the dark period pre-harvest and studied the extra trichomes produced?

THANKS YALL

Let me stop you right at the beginning lol

Cbn. Is what your thinking of. Its not cbd.

Cbd is strain related , you cant just let it grow longer to get more cbd .

The dark period doesnt work, dont bother .

Light and air degrade trichomes.

After youve harvested you need to dry and cure your product the right way and store it in an air tight container in the dark, around 70f. Ideally you can save bud for years befor it degrades to the point of not being smokable.

A good way to find answers is google

hey dude thanks for the cbn correction but what im mainly curious about is what colour or state trichomes are when they are produced by the plant at first, and whether this changes depending on how mature the plant is?

I have pretty much scanned through most of the relevant threads with lots of responses but no one really addresses that. All there is is a simple facts regarding that trichomes will be clear first, then cloudy and then amber. Nobody really talks about the plant continually producing more trichomes RIGHT UP to the moment of harvest. What I'm curious about is what are the trichomes produced on the say very last day/night- are they clear or cloudy or amber?

Obviously I have searched google and and gone through all relevant materials on the site you linked otherwise i would not have gone to the length of making an account and writing a thread. Id rather spend my time getting high lmao. But thanks anyways

But a jewler loupe, once your trichomes turn milky you can chop, this is an early harvest and the weed will go to your head, I have reflex sympathetic dytophy syndrome, most painfull chronic illness known to man, so I only grow heavy indica and want couch lock, I never chop till 60 percent of my trichomes are amber, a late harvest will lock you to you couch, once your pistols go over keep a sharp eye on your trichomes some strains go overnight, omce your trichomes turn amber I would say the rest are milky not clear, first pic is my small NL at day 57, zoom in on that bud look at the trichomes clear.

And yes I leave my plant in darkness for 48 hours, you will get a bit of cookis, trichomes grow at nigh in fact your plant grows more at night when your lights are off, you can chop when your trichome is milky, make shure there all milky once half my trichomes go amber I would assume all other trichomes are millky, zoom in on my trichomes they are stii mostly clear, but they can turn on you pretty fast, trichomes are glands that produces thc, yes when your plant is ready it will produce trichomes as she matures she will keep producing for the rest of there lives, have you not ever seen a plant covered with snow or frost those are trichomes, they look like glass mushrooms zoom in on those pics trichome a plenty.
