ok so i am running 1000wtts of hps and i am checking trichromes . well when i look thru my loop glass in my grow room they are cloudy/milky/amber. but when i take the plant out of the hps lighting the trichcromes aren't as cloudy and amber as they are in the grow room.. they have been in flower for 65-70 days from showing flowers and about 85 days since the flip date... not sure if these are the cheese candy or bubblegummer clones from my previous grow.(lost there lables):dunce: but anyway from the looks of the trichromes in the room there about ready.. but the pistals and hairs are still 80- 20 on red and white..

SO THE BIG QUESTION IS what light should i use to check the clarity of trichromes????????:wall:

by my lights in the room there cloudy/amber. in cfl lighting there clear/cloudy...what to do.. :wall::wall:

Check em' in natural sunlight. When you have a light that produces a shit ton of a certain wavelength that wavelength is predominantly picked up by your eyes. This is why leds turn everything pink and hps` make everything yellow/orange tinted. The sun has the best all around spectum to give you the true colors of anything.

great thread. im 5 or so weeks into flower and going to check the trichs today and see whats going on. I have no access to direct sunlight, as im a basement grower. I either have a HPS, MH, T8 6500k, or flashlight (lol) for a light source.

never look at your plants to monitor them under hps or even mh, best is sunlight or else low intensity, ambient (not a beam), white light. just stick a flourescent tube or two somewhere up high and only turn it on when you're checking the plants/trichs.
