Hey, Folks.. My first grow is coming to a head, both literally and figuratively. From everything I've read, I've gotten the impression that the tops of the plants reach harvest maturity first (wrong?).
But, in one of yesterdays' 3x daily trichome surveys (can't help it), I found some lower branches showing amber trichs, like 10% coverage or so, while the "upper tier" is about 60/40 cloudy to clear, with just a scattered amber here or there. That's where I want them -- about 10% amber, so down they came (just those branches -- about 80-90% of the crop is still standing).
Is this weird, or did I just get a wrong impression on how MJ matures? Or perhaps it varies by strain?
