Hi, if you don't care to know a backstory.. skip to next paragraph. Growing up a friend had a purple haze plant. When smoked, it would almost feel like you're in a dream state like zoned out but in a euphoria state. Skip ahead 15 years get purple haze again from dispensary. Same effect. Trying to find that phonotype/ mix of parents so I can get that effect forever.

So white label has a seed named purple haze. I popped one and while it had a good flavor, it wasn't what I was looking for. Second bean was getting pretty close but euphoric state wasn't as strong, but I used some STS spray, reversed it, collected the pollen and also pollinated a clone of the same plant.

I then grew out 4 beans of the "pollinated clone plant" and 3/4 were pretty much the same structure, growth rate, and appearance. The 4th of the mix grew very stretchy but had the best smelling floral buds I've ever smelled. Week 5-9 that one #4 was stronger smelling than the rest. Whole tent smelled like it. So let's assume that's two phenos out of those 4. (I realize if I did like 20 there might be 3-10 phenos but stay with me here...)

I decided to clone and also self pollinate the weird floral smelling #4. I saved beans.

My question is, if I find the euphoric pheno plant and then pollinate it with the #4 pollen, there could be achance I would have the euphoric/floral smelling buds right? When I found the plant that had both phenos I want, how do I stabilize that?

Second question, for breeding is it smarter to reverse bean 1 plant and then pollinate bean 2 plant?

Or is it better to save pollen from a pheno you liked, and then pollinate a natural female that ends up having another pheno you like? I'm trying to stabilize a certain high and have it forever. Really love how it makes me feel and helps with my stress(which I have a lot of, lol)

I'm down to work for years to perfect this just so I can selfishly have it long term lol

So I don’t breed so I only have anecdotal advice. However I learned some about breeding and the like on Mr nice forums. Just look for anything with Neville’s old posts, some of which are still there. Again I don’t breed cuz plant limits in my state are shite but lots of good info there. There are some great posts there. Boils down to trial and error though.

So you think starting with only feminized plates will differ from using male x female? It's my belief that using a fem genetic would pass on only fem genes even though it was reversed using sodiumthio. Sts.

I realize this wouldn't occur naturally in nature but pretty rad we can do it
Feminized seeds contain two pairs of xx chromosomes, regular seeds have xx and xy (male). The genetic pool is more likely smaller with feminized seeds.

Like a box of chocolates . . .

Trip on over to pdfdrive.com and search for cannabis breeding and get yourself some free e-books to teach you all you'll ever need to know.

I've been pollen chucking for 20 years and now doing the STS thing and making fems and crosses.

Gotta keep things interesting.

Have fun.

Yeah I tried the colloidal silver/Tiresias mist but it seemed to hurt the host more than helping reverse it. First two I did with STS worked perfectly. We're you surprised at your results?

Have you had a good success with your crosses? I find it fun we can express certain phenos just by selective breeding. I'm starting my journey and am hooked lol

I was impatient with how long it seemed to be taking so doubled the strength with little damage to the leaves I was spraying with it. Probably didn't even need the last couple sprays I gave them.

Most of what I've done so far is just pick plants I like and cross them. Not a lot of pheno hunting on any large scale. Going by looks and stem rubbings and mainly preserving strains I'd like to keep. Not even sure how much deeper I'll get into it. I have some plants waiting to be cloned to make some seeds and crosses with them and might take a break until end of the year or so.
