trim during flowering?

i have 2 plants about to go into there 7th week of flowering over clf lighting... they are budding but the buds are really not that big for the time duration... any suggestions? keep in mind i do fertilize them and they just keep growing taller...
another question i want to ask is if i can cut the big leaves off the plants for more light to reach the buds... can i do this or no?
first time growing and i dont want to ruin anything...

you can, but those leaves make energy for the plant, it's not advisable to do so. if you can, just tuck the leaves under so that they are out of the way of bud sites.

Using molasses for my 1st time . . . it really does seem to bulk up the buds quite nicely.
If you're not, it could/will help?

they will keep coming back up, especially if they have a fan blowing right on them, but I'd still keep just tucking them away. it gets to be a pain, but those leaves store the majority of the energy for the plant.

Yo Id try some molasses for a carbo load at say 1-2 Tbs per gal. of h2o. Use during last 2-4 weeks of flowering. Grandmas molasses from the store works good. Also how far are your cfl's? Try having as close as possible without burning the plant and maybe getting the larger ones (42w) with a spectrum of like 2700kor maybe a couple more for side lighting. Wouldnt trim any leaves till say a couple days before harvest during flush period.. The large fan leaves are like factories for your plant producing sugars and other vital things. This is my understanding at least. GL man :blsmoke::peace:

You can trim some of the lower branches that don't get much light. The fan leaves produce the sugar for bud growth so try not to cut too many of them.

I cut all fan leaves not recieving light and any that are blocking bud sites. Fan leaves are only really important for veg growth IMO.

also how do i make my buds bigger they seem not to be growing so fast or is that how it is for clf bulbs...?
another question.... what is the number of weeks of flowering for plants under clf?

i cut most of my fan leaves at the bottom and now that the leaves have more light at the bottom the buds are getting bigger.

Fellow RIU'er CannaSeur showed me a book that had the difference between molasses and not..the molasses was a lot bigger...like in humans it fattens some of the cells..? .I don't have experience doing it..but this grow I'm trying 1/2 my plants with it..got to try to learn........

I have used Molasses, Carbo Load, and SWEET. They all do about the same. Mollasses makes the rez tank, air stones and pumps a slimey mess. Carbo load is so thick that it hard to get it mixed into the rez tank correctly, and SWEET. Sweet is very fast and easy to mix in. I use the Rasberry Sweet myself.

wtf u mean u cant expect miracles with clf? i'm not expecting any miracle i just want to know how long is the flowering process with clf lighting... i know its different with different strains but i just want to know if its going to be longer with clf....

another question will a lil homemade co2 help the plants grow bigger buds...
and how do u make co2? (all i know is sugar. yeast, and water but how much each?)

CO2 can help.

I started using molasses, and my buds got bigger faster. Now I'm not sure if its from the molasses or just the time for them to go on a growth spurt.

But in general, light is your best friend.

just search for it, there are plenty of diy co2 ideas around. As far as your flowering time question, cfl's do not really elongate the flowering time, it is mostly built into the strain.

Now I have never used Co2, But from what I understand Co2 is a waste of time and money unless you have everything else perfect, and 90% of the people out there do not fit this discription.
