I always use thee ol' fashioned Fiskars when trimming but wanted to get one myself and was told the trimmer bowls ruin your buds and was suggested to go with a electric table style one instead because the hand operated ones are trash as I was told by someone who bought one for them self.

Did you try the tabletop one? I’ve read the bowls can be hard on the bud and they don’t last. There’s a store by me that rents them all ($100 bowls to $16 k commercial machines). Was thinking of just renting one for a day and being done.

I've never used them, I was just suggested it over the bowls based upon people's experiences that I know personally.
Maybe if you can and if they'll allow you maybe bring some nugs to the place and ask if you can test it out to see if you like it before you rent it?

To me it would be a real shame to spend months growing plants just to have the trichomes stripped off by beating the buds senseless in a machine. I think you would be better off having a few friends over to have a trimming party. Some free smoke and take away bud will cost less than a machine and your end product will be better.

Hey y'all,
I let my arthritis get the best of me, so, I bought a Vivosun 16" trim bowl. I'm happy with the results but, I hope someone has a clean up hack. The main grill {above the blades} is the only problem area. Maybe I can find a flat bottomed tray that is slightly larger than the unit and soak it in alcohol. I don't want to get anything in the gearbox. I used to only be able to trim 3 or 4 girls before I started hurting, so I always ran a staggered harvest. With this I feel comfortable starting a monocrop who can finish on the same day. Grow on...
