Trimming opinions

Getting ready to start the process, was wondering if anyone else thinks about this the way i am right now.

With regards to the small sugar leaves, I enjoy looking at pictures of nicely manicured buds.
I didnt take the sugar leaves off last year. My thinking was the leaves protected the trichomes on the bud. I left one jar fully manicured to see any difference in taste, how it smoked, ect. I only noticed a big difference in the amount of trichomes stuck to the jar. Not one person could taste a difference, but when i would pass the jar around to smell and check it out always got comments on the sugar leaves. Anyone else leave them on?

I leave mine on too, it’s so much easier to just pluck them off after they are dry and I think they dry better with them on.

Tightly manicured buds comes from the BM market and based on what customers think weed should look like. If it's for yourself I don't see any need to trim close, it's all good and I've never noticed any difference between closely manicured and rough trimmed buds.

secretly I know those leaves have much wax in them, great terpenes to be had too. I dont mind them but they fall off and turn to shake when packaging/delivering so I manicure my buds into shapes, tight to the flowers, the way they want them
