Trimming????

Yeah it is a great system. I use same nute make up. No yellowing no matter how long I leave them and even if I flush for 3 weeks. I just don't have the height or space to max out the yield so more numbers for best yield. Doing some tests on fewer plants just to see but still have to use the space I have and that is a limiting factor. 40 inches tall is all I can get and then have to bend em over or smoke in the woodshed so to speak. Strain I use does not amber. Very little I mean. After the cut of course it is all red haired but that is for all strains. I don't understand the strains I guess that amber out at the end because if I waited for 50% or more amber they will revert to green leafy buds and well been there done that.. Some times the old adage of "Amber" is a challenge to decide when to take but I know bud so I don't wait for them anymore to amber. If you think this is wrong tell me why but I have waited on some for long time and they did not get better after 3 weeks when I thought I should have cut them. So amber, no amber you should be able to read your buds and once you have a strains timing down you should always mark your calander.. Thanks

Ps. What sizes at finish do you have? Room height, width ect? Rez size?

confusedone, we have a lot of the same. i also use my aero/nft setup, i pull around 40-42oz from 12 plants under 2-1k's, and i also very rarely have any leaves that go yellow. thats why i started using a bloom for soil with low nitrogen the last three weeks in flower and still no difference in leaves. i have some that are ready at day 50 and can let them go to 60 with no yellowing and all amber trichs.

When to trim? In flower is where I see many a branch, leaf ect.. that needs to be trimmed. When they flower is when the real size change begins and well are there negatives to trimming large long lower limbs ect during flower? Say right before or right after girly show that is. I think it best to trim them all the way up in veg but I am not 100% about what is the best or what will occur either way negative. ? Thanks.
You noobs ever bother doing a search before posting a topic that has been discussed a thousand times?

If a "green" leaf is green, and it is receiving light, enough light that is, it will create this little thing called photosythesis. It does not matter where on the plant it is it is the plants mechanism for energy production. If the fan leaf is fully developed it won't be using up energy ever it will be producing it. This is not up for your simply I believe it will debate. It is a fact of "BOTANY" . If a leaf is shading others then those others do not receive light, refer back to first statements if that confuses you, and you can bend it down or remove it. Air flow is a point where u must have it or you can have issues with molds ect. Only reason to ever cut off leaves is for one of these reasons and really no other. A healtly plant gets energy from all its green, light receiving leaves period. Now if you don't like what I have typed then quote a real source that can show why plants even make leaves. It is not to be pretty. The only purpose a plant has is to make more of its own kind. This is why it continues. The leaves are there for that end. What end u the uninformed might ask. Well sorry you have to ask but it is to make buds that should make seeds. The only reason it does not make seeds is because we are smarter than the plants and we like condoms not abortion. LOL......

ACTUALLY...YES...a plant will 'dis-regards' it's photosynthesis factories, as you put it. Trimming your plants will not only keep them happier but if done correctly can increase your yeild. A single leaf is actually an energy storage device to a point, once that specific leaf is no longer required for energy purposes is becomes a detriment to the plant by no longer storing energy but using energy to stay alive. If you watch your plants they will tell you which is which.

Your statement shows your abilities, so maybe before you start spouting your mouth off about Botany you should get your facts straight.

The facts here are you have no clue so maybe you should not give advice.

There's no reason to trim any sort of green growth. pluck off brown, dead leaves. even slightly yellow leaves still have some sugars and energy to give to your plant. the only thing you accomplish when you trim your plant is making it look better, and retarding growth

Since it seems I won't be looking at any of this bs anymore since smoking pot makes many really stupid, and not much really I can see a point in trying to find good answers to "simple" questions.. I had to point out to this one that reading is fun Duh mental.
READ my first post. I was not asking how to trim a bud! Wow! Also this post should be in the advanced forum since it is plain to see many don't have a good understanding of what kind of stress is really!! done to a plant when u remove branches/leaves while they are in the bloom phase. Still not a good answer but I think I don't really need it anyway. Have taken tons off in flower on most cycles and have had fine outcomes so not much real point I guess. Just wanted to know the reality of stress in flower due to any types of trimming to reduce shade/small branches ect.. Good luck with all the nonsense such as I also pointed out in my last post but had already been addressed by someone else, "Botany". Right on to you bye the way. Green leaves with light are making food, For the idiot that is sugars for the buds and the plant. Nutes do not give the plant what they really use at the end of Photosythesis, that product is sugars. But think whatever you like and cut all all those "stem" fan leaves. Hope no one believes it though because it is nonsense at its best.. GL all..... No cure for stupid....:hump:
