Trip to Playa Del Carmen

It looks like I'll be taking trip to Playa Del Carmen in the next month or so. Can anyone that's been there before tell me how easy it is to find some good buds there?

I have been doing some online research and all I can find is horror stories of people getting arrested or settling for brown dirt weed. I'd like to avoid both.

Be very careful! Many of the local druggies sell to tourists, then tell the cops, for a cut of the fines/bribes. It is a common scam in Mexico, and most countries South of there.

i know a few people down there that might be able to help, but i'll tell you what its really not that good or worth it. anything i ever got down there always resembled left over trim/popcorns, and very VERY low quality. Im guessing the better part is exported and the leftovers are sold in country

Was there a couple years ago.i doubt you will get anything close to what you smoke now,but just hang out on the beach and hit up the necklace peddlers and such.the first guy I talked to hooked us up with ok bud and some killer blow..don't pay the asking price!! Negotiate!

This is not sounding as promising as I hoped. I'm staying at an all inclusive, so I guess I'll hit up a bar tender or something. Was thinking to ask the bell hop but then thought "what if he snitched on me and tells a cop? He knows where I'm staying" Maybe that's too paranoid.

You really should listen to Clayton. Just go and have a good time with out smoking. Unless you know some one their. This is one more bunch of crooks.

It's the wife & I going, so no hookers or blow, boring, I know. I'll just keep my fingers crossed for something good to come my way.

Bradley, what kind of folks do you know down there? How do I know you're not a Mexican cop! :bigjoint:

Playa is only a drive away from Cancun. There are a thousand street vendors lining the streets, and most of them have a guy nearby with bud, blow, pills, whatever. Just don't hand over money and let them walk away, it won't be coming back. Like all tourist places, you just have to have a knack at finding the stuff you want. Its there.

You can buy Valium legally without a script there. I'm a weed snob so I skipped the bud and just had plenty of tequila.

So did you actually come across bud down there but it was dirt? or what? I've become quiet the snob myself, and I just don't understand how any Caribbean location doesn't have killer weed. They have plenty of sun and great soil for the most part, it's like they have to be trying to fuck it up to not get good bud.

Worst case scenario is valium and a cerveza on the beach I guess.

And hey, Stillbuzzin. I appreciate your warnings but I'm curious about them as well. Do you have experience on the topic or have you just been watching locked up abroad? I know Mexican jails are no joke but I also thought Mexico decriminalized possession up to like 100 grams for personal use. At most I'd be looking to score a 1/2 to a zip. So would I actually get locked up for that or just a fine/bribe?

I checked, 100 grams was way off! It is 5 grams of weed that is considered personal use according to the US/Mexican Consulate.

I always use the security guy at the resort. They are well connected and with a nice tip usually getting what I want w/o worrying about cops! I tend to get like a little everyday(smoke) that way everyone stays happy cost a little more but I feel like keeping in touch w him daily eases my mind of being busted,cause jail in Mexico is not fun I know this first hand.

I seldom watch any kind of programs on the screen. I was locked up in Mexico on 2 different occasions. The cops down their are worse than any thief you will ever meet here. They will find more reasons to get your money than you could imagine
