Troutie's Green O'matic Stealth grow

you are all good man, expect a 3 - 7 day "lull" in growth after a transplanting.... What i do with autos is start them out in the 1 quart containers, and then switch them to there permanent home. Usually at about the third node of leaves. This makes sure you don't prune the roots on accident.
 
I think that they are just a little shocked by there new home. Is the 60/40 soil mix the same mix that you started them in if not thats gonna add to the shock a little bit. Also if its autoflower and already growing buds it might just be slowing vertical growth and starting to focus on producing flowers(not gonna lie, I don't really know how big your plants are but everything I've read on Auto's say that they start flowering like 6-10 days after seed and the strain your running is one of the fastest auto's from seed to harvest that I've found. Not totally sure if thats it but thats my guess for now.

i would say mine are 4" max.... and yeah i've read that from 2 weeks these start to show signs of flower (white hairs) ... but most threads i've read have had people saying "day 36 and just showing white hairs" so as i'm using cfl's i'm not expecting super rapid... but i guess failure and success must come down to more factors then choice or intensity of light alone :-)... think mine are starting to show something between 2nd...and 3rd node, went in for a closer inspection and after whacking my head on the reflector and generally arseing around i found i still couldn't see close enough lol so could be?? or could be another tiny leaf set forming hehehe
after tissue germ'ing 3 days... i put them in 3" pots with very light seeding soil and (i crushed some purlite up and added it, soil 80% purlite 20%).... but i have bought a bag of light mix from the hydro shop (lightly fert'd i'm guessing) for my final 60%/40% mix ... so in short no its a different soil mix this time.

you should have massaged the roots, to loosen them up before putting them into new pots. get your soil nice and wet, and stick your hands down the sides and try an loosen the roots up. your plant will continue to act root bound until the roots break free.
 
DO NOT use your hands to loosen up the roots. This is not good advice. Roots CAN NOT regenerate after they die off. They are also sensitive enough that doing what you suggested would damage the hell out of them.

hahaha what... dude your crazy. ive been doing this for years and i have never had a problem. as long as you dont have some sort of fungus fingers i think you will be fine. the plant will heal faster. your a freaking idiot, the plant is constantly having new roots die and building new ones. read a book.

it would be too late now anyways as i've put them in without feeling there bums up lol.... i'll just have to see what happens.... sometimes i think i should try different things like the two posts above with different plants to see what happens in a side by side .... but if i have done this with everything i've wanted too so far this grow ... id have about 500 plants going :-)
 
ive worked fo a nursery for 5 years and this is what we always do with all our plants, trees, shrubs and fruits. i may be new to growing weed, but not even close to being a gardener.
 
i had been taught to do this also back in school... but forgot to and potted them as was.... but hopefully they could be regarded as not quite rootbound and will thrive ... fingers crossed!
 
put an air stone in the water can and filled it with 10ltrs of rain water and 1/2 strength of (min) guidlines on the nutes bottle...... thought 1/4 strength was too weak :-) (we'll see if they can handle it, i'd be well gutted if i messed up now!)... switched on the air pump and started blowing bubbles!.... also put a copy of the nute chart in a poly-sleeve and stuck it to the back of the water can with my trusty roll of growers-mate (foil tape) as i have had enough of losing things in the shed lol

also got some 12v switches and bits so i can finish off wiring all the fans up, as i have a feeling with 3 lamps i might have to up the exhaust rate :-)

in the future I wouldn't transplant autos. If you do have to grow them this way put them in a party cup and when its time to transplant cut out the bottom of the cup and put it in the larger pot. Every auto I've tried to transplant has not given me the max yield I was after. The root systems are very fragile. I would suggest starting in peat pots and then putting them in the pot they will spend the rest of their lives in.

ere cumbers ... i have the switches and project box for my fan control hub :-) .... gonna need some advise bruv!
 
fan controls and project boxes aren't actually my area of expertise as my grow is in an open air closet in a spare bedroom. I just keep a 2 foot box fan running on medium in the room to circulate air. Since the bedroom is off locked and off limits to everyone except me and my wife and is just a small room in the back of my basement the room is essentially my stealth grow cab.

Sorry I can't be much help in that arena, I try to refrain from giving advice that doesn't come from my first hand experience.
 
Repair/Upgrade​
been meaning to add some more pics showing some of the bits and peices i've done to the Cabinet as i didn't really go into too much detail during the build, as i was working like a madman to get it finished ..... i even had to reflective line it around the plants as they had to go in under the light before i had a chance to get it finished.​

up until now i have been running my fans from a single charger and have only had 1 or 2 running, as keeping it warm was a little bit of a problem to begin with. as i should have had two more 125w CFL's turning up today (not yet arrived :-( ) i've have had get the other fans wired as i will need to shift more heat when the lamps go in.​

IMG_8952.jpg This pic is showing the bulkhead i built to reduce the hight inside the cabinet. i said i'd drill holes in it to allow hot air out through the fans. (didn't discribe what i was doing correctly) i used a hole saw and filled the 3" holes with vent grilles, i have four of these currently (2 covered up with bubble-foil as 2 open is enough for 1 light) i will uncover the others when my lighs get here..... and i can add more vent holes if i need to.​

IMG_8958.jpg here is my home made fan control box thingy ... 2x 120mm exhausts on Fan1 ... 2x 80mm exhausts on Fan2 ... and the freshly wired in 120mm intake on Fan3.......... now i can turn them on and off when i like and i dont need to get the electrical tape out :-) , i'm well happy with this mod (wish you guys could see the picture on the monitor...... bloody CRT screens grrrrrrrr lol) it has a lovely clear picture though i love being able to see them without opening the doors.​
 
dude thats awesome, i used some pc fans for my flower box, two of them and they push some air. I was quite surprised. inside of your box is clean!

I'm dying to get a webcam sorted in mine too lol will have to put a PC in there for that though so may not hmmmm

Glad to see your power box working too ;)

Thanks Bro.... i have spent plenty of time messing around with it lol .... and i'm well happy with it now and will be even more so when these bloody lights turn up lol... i hate waiting for mail order stuff :-(
