Trimp himself was back-peddling like a mother-fucker on Fox & Friends today.

"If I was, and of course you have to look at it because if you don't look at it you're not going to know if it's bad ... of course you give it to the FBI or report it to the attorney general or somebody like that. But of course you’d do that, you couldn't have that happen with our country," he said.

When presented with comments by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., who accused him of a "criminal coverup" in terms of his conduct during the Russia investigation, Trump said that "it's a fascist statement, it's a disgraceful statement."

"Her party got caught spying. If you look at what happened, Hillary Clinton with the money that ultimately went to Russia for the fake dossier, the totally fake pile of stuff....and the amount of money that was paid and was paid by Hillary Clinton and the DNC and it went to Russia, that's the criminal," he said.

I guess the leit-motif of the the crazies from the right and left is to just turn whatever reasonable accusation you are subject to back onto the accusers.

In July 2016, the Obama administration accepted unsolicited information from Alexander Downer, an Australian diplomat who just happened to have helped arrange a $25 million government donation to the Clinton Foundation years before. Downer said that he had witnessed a Trump campaign aide, George Papadopoulos, bragging about some dirt that the Russians supposedly had on Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Though Downer’s claim was reported two-plus months after the alleged event, and was only hearsay gathered at a London tavern, the Obama administration gave it to the FBI which, in turn, thought it was weighty enough to justify opening a counterintelligence case against the lawfully elected Republican nominee for president.

In other words, the Democratic administration accepted dirt from a foreign friendly and used it to justify investigating its GOP rival.

Except Trump never gave the info to the FBI to figure out whats up with Russians giving them info on another American presidential candidate. The feds actually spoke with the campaign informing them that the Russians were trying to interfere and Trump never said a word.

Except that is pure bullshit.

Papadopoulos was already being looked at because Carter Page was already being looked at. Papadopoulos sent Carter Page an email stating that he had met in Italy with a Russian Ambassador that had dirt on Hillary Clinton. This was back in March of 2016.

Just days later, Carter was asked about his Russian contacts and Papadopoulos was put on watch as well.

Later on in May of 2016, Papadopoulos once again runs his mouth to the Greek Foreign Minister that the Russians have dirt on Hillary.

It was late May and into June that pretty much every media outlet on earth wrote about the Russians hacking the DNC.

June 7th is when Donald Trump Jr. was trying to set up the meeting to obtain the dirt the Russians had on Hillary.

In the middle of June, there's nothing in the papers other than the Russian hacking that was done on the DNC.

By the end of June, Steele had compiled his dossier based largely on his own and other intelligence.

All through June and into the first week of July, Carter Page is meeting with, talking to, emailing and traveling to Russia/Russians.

All of that was already being looked at and investigated by the FBI WAY BEFORE Alexander Downer alerted the FBI about Papadopoulos the second week of July.

Fact is, Papadopoulos was literally telling ANYBODY that would listen that the Russians were going to get dirt on Hillary. For literally MONTHS. He and Carter Page were complete fucking idiots.

All of that was under investigation long before Downer said a word. In the end, Downer's input didn't really matter at all. It was simply a third confirmation about Papadopoulos that they already had known and were already investigating months before.
