The key difference still is context. “Not from those shitholes but more from Normay”. This clearly implies the people themselves are part of why it’s a shithole, otherwise if the people are equal persons then their native geography would have no connection to wether he wants them or not...

Crime rate calculates into admission how? These individuals are checked out- visa lottery isn’t just random citizens of other countries they are vetted before they come.

I think if we aren’t to be hypocrites for now until we settle this issue as a nation the poem on the bottom of Lady Liberty should be covered...

When the Irish came here their country was in ruins should they have been denied entrance at Ellis Island because Ireland was in tatters?

I’m not speaking of race here, I’m speaking of “national origin”. I’m speaking in terms of the context of his statement not my beliefs.

If my analysis of his statement is incorrect t then by his belief why would Normegians be okay but Ethiopians not be?

And I speak in terms of national origin here instead of race, which I feel the racial element a completely legit conversation to have, but I'm framing my thoughts on this in terms of national origin for this reason: race has been subjective over time. When you meet a caucasian with a last name of O'Reilly, McDonnell, Murphy, or O'sullivan you see them as "White" correct? While remember there was a time the Irish were considered anything but "White".

I use the Irish as an example but there are many others this can be said for too over time.
