So guys, i hope you all find yourselves well.

Since being a avid member here on ss&p, i have done plenty of thinking.

I was never really aware of the many issues you all have mentioned on here. Since knowing of those things, i became aware that i share so many views as those of my atheist counterparts, but my faith in God is very strong.

It is for this reason that in all sincerity, i apologize to those that i have offended in the past. I am not trying to be convinced in changing my views or beliefs, simply just showing you who i am.

The reason i act the way i do, is i just do not think it is fair that so many attack or ridicule people for sharing different views then your own. I am a just person and will stand up for anyone being mocked or ridiculed, just i know, you all would do the same.

So once again, thank you for your time and consideration

Hey, Oly! Very cool of you. One point that you seem to have missed is that the skeptics/atheists here (barring one or two rotten apples) are not attacking or criticizing any individual (ad hominem), only their unsupportable beliefs. I've seen the skeptics jump in to defend theist/spiritualists when the treatment toward them as individuals is unfair. When people post their beliefs in a public forum, they are fair game for analysis, questioning and if appropriate, criticism. That goes for anyone regardless if the beliefs are theistic or not. Some people are such douchebags in their conduct that they do get attacked personally, but that's only after attacking others. Anyone conducting themselves as civilized adults get treated as such, again regardless of their beliefs. In closing, attacking beliefs/ideas is okay and fair game, attacking individuals is not...

Takes a person with strong moral fiber to put a post up like you did :-). All you can really be is yourself and if people take offense to it its really their fault and not yours. I do not know how many times I tried to be extremely mindful of my actions and words but some people can be hypersensitive and react.

I do notice that i do understand the rules.

I just know sometimes people are not being honest nor sincere amd that gets to me.

However, i understand that we should carry on as civil people and me being aggressive per se was not helping. Some on here are honest and are sincere and one can see that, but one can also see through the bullshit.

Thanks for understanding tyler, it means a lot

Apology accepted. Very admirable, Thank you.

I also apologize for reacting the way i did on a few threads , even if it was a counter... that is still no excuse for my behavior either. I should have handled it more maturely.

It would definitely be much appreciated if the debates, disagreements, and arguing could stay at a civil level.

I agree with Tyler on this: "In closing, attacking beliefs/ideas is okay and fair game, attacking individuals is not... "

We can't control others, hell, I can't control myself. That's my life's work. I did see a NatGeo, sorry, National Geographic, on elephants, recently.

They are trying to increase populations without really understanding. But, they did notice young males like to hang out, and were disapproved by the rest of the group including the Big Bull, and the young females were under strict control of the Matriarch. So, take the 3 -4 year old boys elsewhere and they will eventually find their own mates.

Woops, however, they became very aggressive trolls of farmland, pushing trees down across roads, and even attacking people. Killed a kid on his bicycle one night.

Long story, made short. No Bull Elephant there for role modeling. They got a big mature male, and he did nothing but followed along and stared at them. Problem solved.

In these forums all we can do is just ignore it and try to set a better example.

I'm going to repeat myself so's to make it an old saying. In Forum, it takes the Idiot to raise the Village.

Oly,
I defended you back here https://www.rollitup.org/spirituality-sexuality-philosophy/548516-dating.html#post7767209 and received some criticism for it so I'm glad you made this thread.

You and I discussed some things via pm some time ago and you made an admission much like the OP here. This is why I like and supported you in spite of you continuing to make many posts that were kind of obnoxious to others. If more people posted such things as honestly as you did just here, this would be a much better place to get together and discuss things. This atheist here would be honored to have you as a friend and I can only hope you set an example for others.

I have no hard feelings but I have given up trying to have a meaningful conversation, or even lite conversation, with Oly. Every exchange is regarded with suspicion and is twisted into some sort of insult or putdown. I have tried numerous times to show that I can look past someones religion when discussing other topics, and oly has shown he can not. I grow tired of having my genuine attempts at communication pissed on and used an an opportunity to further segregate. I understand things get heated when discussing personal beliefs, but what I have learned is that, because I am atheist, there is nothing I can say about any topic that will not upset Oly.

So although I appreciate this attempt at peace, It comes too little too late for me. There is no appreciation I could express, no encouragement I can offer, that wont be regarded as coming from a high atheistic horse.

"... regarded as coming from a high atheistic horse. "

Even still, there's a good view if you can get up there.

At least there's no God as a man for sex Love, up there.
